Friday
 
The Parklands of Floyds Fork invites you to a StoryWalk®! Enjoy reading a children’s book while walking along The Egg Lawn Signature Trail. Follow the signs placed around The Egg Lawn to read the entire story. (Friday-Sunday, starting at Noon on Friday)

Join the City of Jeffersontown for their first ever Gaslight on the Go! Trolley Rides! Happening every LAST Friday of the month, from April – October, the trolley will be driving through all parts of the Historic Gaslight District, making stops at local businesses/restaurants. 6:00-10:00pm

Newburg Library is throwing a Skate Party and you’re invited! Kids, teens, and families are welcome at our after-hours skate party this Friday. They’ll bring the skates and music, you bring the enthusiasm! 5:30-7:30pm

Saturday
Catch the Great Balloon Rush Hour Race during your morning commute, or join the crowd at Kroger’s Fest-a-Ville on the Waterfront for the Great Balloon Glow at dusk. L&N Federal Credit Union Rush Hour Race – (Friday, 7 AM at Bowman Field) or L&N Federal Credit Union Great Balloon Race – Saturday, 7 AM at Bowman Field

Pollinator Day is a FREE, family-friendly event and includes hands-on activities for the whole family! Games, crafts, local vendors, selfie-station, food trucks, and booths full of information for all! The event will be held at 3000 Technology Ave., New Albany, IN 47150. Weather permitting!


Visit The Rosewater Bookstore this Saturday for their Fill-A-Bag Sale! The price for filling a bag is $10, whether you use a Rosewater tote bag or bring your own. 10am-3pm


Make the jump to light speed and set those coordinates to Louisville Slugger Field for Star Wars Night this Saturday. Enjoy Star Wars sights and sounds, special themed jerseys, and a spacesword giveaway to the first 2,000 fans in attendance! (They also have games Friday and Sunday if you can’t make the game on Saturday)


They’ve got a ton of fun in store for Saturday! Get your tickets to support LouCity against Hartford — plus it’s their annual Pups at the Pitch game! More info for those looking to bring their dogs can be found at LouCity.com/Pups.


For the first time ever, independent bookstores in the Greater Louisville area are partnering for READ FOR THE ROSES — a two-week long celebration surrounding Independent Bookstore Day, which takes place on Saturday, April 27th. Participating bookstores include Carmichael’s Bookstore (Frankfort Ave and Bardstown Rd locations), Carmichael’s Kids, Foxing Books, A Novel Romance, Butcher Cabin Books, Set & Setting, and The Rosewater Bookstore. From April 20th to May 5th, you will be able to pick up a special READ FOR THE ROSES bookmark from any participating bookstore. Click here for all the details!


Sunday

Please join in and celebrate Louisville’s 9th Holi Mela – The Festival of Colors. Holi is celebrated across India to signify the end of winter, the onset of spring, victory of good over evil, and simply a day to meet others, play, enjoy, laugh, forgive and forget. 12pm-6pm


Join Kentucky Derby Festival for the event that started it all, the Zoeller Pump Company Pegasus Parade! The parade will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. to help kick-off Derby Week.


Spend some time at the Speed Art Museum on Sunday. Thanks to a generous contribution from Brown-Forman, general admission is FREE for all on Sundays through 2024. The free Sunday admission is named in honor of the late Owsley Brown II.

Check out Little Crooked Creek Safari in Shelby County. They are open 2-6pm on Sunday. Feed and interact with so many animals. An up-close experience for a petting zoo and with exotic animals. 20.00 for adults, 15.00 for kids, 2 and under are free – all your feed for each animal is included. 1430 Little Crooked Creek Rd. Lawrenceburg, Ky. 40342. Cash and cards accepted.

The Main Library and Highlands-Shelby Park Library join South Central Regional with their newly established collection of board games and puzzles now available for checkout! Puzzles can be checked out for 21 days, and renewed 3 times. Board games can be checked out for 7 days (no renewals). These puzzles and games do not float, so please return them to the Library where they were checked out.
