Things to do this weekend around Louisville – April 19,20,21
Well, let’s state the obvious. There’s a super huge event this weekend. Maybe you have heard of it. It goes BOOM – it’s THUNDER! Of course, that’s on the list for many people whether it’s heading downtown for all of the festivities or planning a party at home to watch it on TV. It’s definitely something to make sure you are enjoying in some way.
Aside from Thunder, you can take the kids to enjoy the Folsom Academy of the Arts production of “The Little Mermaid.” They have shows all weekend long – see the schedule and information here. I think it’s fabuLOUs to take kids to see other kids performing on stage, maybe your child will be inspired to try the arts. Tickets are $12.
How about some “18th Century Thunder” at Locust Grove where you can have some family fun and learn about history? Saturday and Sunday from 10-4:30 there will be Revolutionary War reenactments and demonstrations and you can transport your family back in time. Admission: $6 adults, $3 kids 6-12, free for kids 5 and under.
On Sunday, it’s the Louisville Zoo’s Earth Day celebration with $2 admission and no parking fee!
According to their website: “Spend the day learning about the Zoo’s conservation efforts and visit environmental displays featuring some of our eco-partners.” This admission price is a great deal for those who don’t have a membership!
Have a thunderific weekend of family fun and be safe,
