Review of Brown Park in St. Matthews: By Stephanie

Nestled in the middle of apartments and hospitals is a cute park in St. Matthews, Brown Park.   It is located at the corner of Browns Lane and Kresge Way, behind Mall St. Matthews….well, that’s the general direction.  We went there today and the weather was perfect.  We started at the playground. It is a small playground as it is geared toward kids under the age of 6. There are no swings, but my kids didn’t seem to care. It was quite busy and I think my kids really liked that!  There are no real bathrooms, but there are port-a-potties.  Also, right next to the playground is a picnic shelter.  The playground is not completely fenced in so my kids kept wandering because they are the wandering types.

After playing and picnicking, we walked the short distance to a little bridge that crosses a stream.  Here, there are geese and ducks swimming, flying and walking about.  We had crackers and bread (thanks to a nice family that strolled by) and fed the ducks for a while.  We didn’t go for a walk but there were plenty of people walking the paced paths.  There’s lots of grassy space for throwing down a blanket and having a picnic. This is definitely a park to check out! Head there soon with your family for some fun, the weather is perfect.
