Things to do in and around Louisville for Valentine’s Day

Take them to a show at the Derby Dinner Playhouse or out to the movies and make it a special little “date” for just Mom and kiddo or Daddy and kiddo….or better yet, make it a family date!

Take them to the Paint Spot or The Artist in You and they can paint a picture frame. Plan ahead and have it ready by Valentine’s Day. Then, on Valentine’s Day, give them their frame with a picture of your child and you inside and a write out a special card for them!

Take them to Fuzziwig’s Candy Factory to pick out their own special chocolate treats!  They can pick from their favorite bulk candy or something special from the hand-dipped chocolate case!

After dinner on Valentine’s Day, treat the family to chocolate fondue at home!

Kids ages 6 and up can make some pottery at the Douglass Community Center on February 4th from 1-3pm.  $10 per piece.

Make some cookies at the Brave Hearts Bash to benefit Kosair Children’s Hospital heart patients.  It’s on February 4th from 1-4pm in the Erskine Community Center. Contact them for more details.

On February 10th, Vint Northfield has an event that’s $18 for 2! Sparkling wine, dipped strawberries, brie and crackers and live music!
Nulu Valentine’s Day Open House event:  This family-friendly and open-to-the-public shopping event is on February 11th from 11am to 6pm along Market Stree and will feature a performace by Justin Lewis at 1pm in Peace on Earth.  There will be discounts at a lot of the shops!

Pottery Barn Kids has a Doll Tea Party on February 11th at 3 and 4 pm.  RSVP is required. Kids dress up and bring their favorite doll or stuffed animal and enjoy refreshments, stories and crafts!

Head to the 2nd Annual Chocopalooza at the The Comfy Cow on Frankfort Avenue on Saturday, February 11th from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. The event is free to attend and open to the public. A percentage of all sales during the event will be donated to Make-A-Wish and Boys & Girls Haven.
There will be 11 different and udderly unique chocolate ice creams for your sampling pleasure as well as a variety of Cellar Door’s amazing truffles, fudge, peanut butter cups and more!
Interactive Chocolate Stations will be positioned throughout the store, including:
*Chocolate crepe station
*Make your own chocolate cotton candy station
*Dip your own chocolate covered banana station
Live Music, Magic Acts, Face Painting and Door Prizes!

Fuzziwig’s Candy Factory is having a craft event! Monday, February 13th at 1pm, head there to make an edible craft.  It’s just $5 and includes a drink!  Call to reserve a spot.

Family Drop-In Workshop at The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft Shrink Film Valentine Gifts Monday, February 13 11:00 – 2:00pm • $6 per person Explore the magic of shrink film while creating a Valentine themed magnet or piece of jewelry and make a gift bag too!

February 14th Jamie’s 14k Cupcakes has an event for you.  Please join us on Valentines Day from 5-7pm
Live music by Violinist Micah Chandler, A build you own crostini appetizer platter, 2 cupcakes of your choice, 2 beverages of your choice for $20 per couple

Want an extra special date with your loved one and don’t really mind spending a little extra?  Corbett’s is a local restaurant that is well-known for delicious food.  They have a special lunch and dinner planned.  It would be a date night to remember.
