Do you have kids that enjoy exploring and learning about nature? You need to check out – Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve. The nature preserve has a great nature center that is very kid-friendly – even for my 2 year-old. Each Wednesday and Saturday from 1-4pm  they are open and have craft tables set up, scavenger hunts, a bird blind, several exhibits of different animals, furs, and more to explore all for FREE.

Ms. Charon volunteers her time, organizes the various crafts, and is available to answer questions. The crafts are related to the Saturday open house of the month. For example this month was focused on bugs so there were butterflys to make and insects to trace. The nature center is also in the process of completing an even more kid-friendly area that has books and a bucket of animals and insects. They have indoor bathrooms and a water fountain. The nature center is also open during the monthly open houses as well. The next one is on Saturday, Oct. 6 from 3-9pm which is the family friendly Haunted Hike. Check out their website for more details.
Be sure to check out the previous review about the trails and playground too.
