Here is our long list of events.  I bet there’s even more so if you know of any events we don’t have listed, just comment on this blog post so we can add them (please include links)!

In chronological order (unless I messed up, which is possible considering I am jittery from too much sugary Halloween candy – that’s how early I have to create this list!)

Wakefield Scearce Christmas Gala – Nov. 6-9th Open house 10am-5pm

Celebration of Lights in Shelbyville Nov. 9th 3-8pm because really, why not light a tree and let it shine for 6 weeks – rock on with your bad self Shelbyville and your extra cushion in your electricity line item.

Bass Pro Shop Christmas: They offer so many activities, a free photo with Santa, games, crafts, freebies and more! Starts Nov. 9th and goes through December 24th and check the times of different promotions by clicking HERE.  Great for weekdays, busy but doable on weekends. Awesome FREE event.

Jeffersonville Holiday open house  Nov. 14th 6-9pm shopping event for those of you who have your shopping lists ready.

The Festival of Trees & Lights is Nov. 15th -18th at Slugger Field. Ticket info on their website.  Dickens Family Night is Friday 11/15

Lights Under Louisville is open 7 days a week for a fun drive through festive experience of lights and holiday music starting Nov. 15th and running through Jan. 1st. It’s $25 per car but you can usually find a coupon (Groupon available here) – beware, if you go right after dinner, lines lines lines.  Think strategery (a la GWB/Will Farrell) when timing your visit and make sure the kiddos use the restroom right before you go, seriously.

Light Up Westport Village – Nov. 15th 6-8pm Santa, activities for kid, holiday train around the center and live music (sales and cocktails for the adults! Great marketing to offer cocktails and then get people loosened up to spend some cash, dangerous!)

Light Up Simpsonville is November 16th at ~6pm

Jingle Arrgh the Way at Derby Dinner Playhouse is great family fun.  Many show dates starting November 16th.  Tickets start at $16.  Pirate and Christmas, makes sense to me but I hang out with a 5 and 6 year old.

Kentucky Horse Park (Lexington) Southern lights Stroll. Nov. 22 -Dec 31 – not a bad drive to get there!

Nulu/East Market District 3rd Annual NuLu Holiday Open House – local retailers and restaurants will be open extended hours and offering specials/discounts, refreshments, and holiday cheer! A, family-friendly and open-to-the-public holiday shopping event – Saturday, November 23rd, 2013 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. along East Market Street.

Brite Nite The Paddock Shops (Now The Paddock Shops) – Nov. 23rd 5-8pm is their light up celebration.  Rides with Santa on Nov. 24-Dec 15th on Saturdays and Sundays

Breakfast with Santa and Shopping Bazaar in Goshen – Nov. 24th 9am-4pm 

A Christmas Carol is running at Actor’s Theater starting Nov. 26th.  It’s good for ages 5 and up

Holidays Around the World – Nov. 26th through Jan. 5th at Frazier History Museum

Ornament Days at Spot5 – Make an ornament for free with a receipt from a LIBA or FABA business. November 29th & 30th  11am-4pm

A Christmas Carol – Shelby County Community Theatre – various dates and times starting Nov. 29th. Tickets $10 and up.

Light Up Charlestown (IN). Nov. 29th 6-10pm. Gather at Greenway Park for a celebration to light up the town.

Light Up Louisville & 40 Nights of Lights – Santa arrives for the Light Up Louisville event on November 29th, parade at 6:30pm.  Then, in 4th Street Live there will be entertainment with an ice rink (faux ice) and light show in Aegon Plaza for 40 Nights of Lights starting 11/30 – light show starts at 6pm nightly on the hour.  Kids will be able to interact with the lights!

Yew Dell Gardens Holiday trains exhibit – Nov. 29th – Dec. 15th various dates and time, fee for admission

Locust Grove Holiday Sampler – Nov 29th 10-4:30  costumed demonstrators and more, admission fee

The Lights at Toyland Christmas display are wonderful, set to music and you can make donations to benefit the Home of the Innocents. Here’s the MAP on how to get there (6801 melon court, Louisville, KY). It starts on 11/29 and goes through 12/27. The special event weekend is 12/13 & 14. Crestwood Festival of Nativities – Dec. 6 & 7

The Santa Express& North Pole Express at the Kentucky Railway Museum: Day and evening excursions starting on Dec. 6th and running varies dates and times. It’s $23.00 for Adults and $18.00 for children ages 2-12, kids under the age of 2 are free.  90 minutes rides with activities

Junior League Hollydays – Dec. 6th – 8th at Slugger Field – art and gift market

Highview Holiday Fest Dec 6th 5-8pm Carriage rides, caroling, kids activities and more. 
Light Up LaGrange for a great small town family experience.  December 6th starting at 6pm. Love this one!

Shelbyville Christmas Parade – Dec. 7th 10am Along Main St. in Shelbyville between the fair grounds and 1st St. 

Stage One-The Best Christmas Pageant Ever: Good for ages 8 and up.  Various weekend performances starting 12/7.  The Kentucky Center, Bomhard Theater.  Tickets are $19.75 and who is THE person that says it’s the best ever, can I quote them?

Holiday Camp at KMAC  Dec 7th 11-4pm – drop off your kids and have a day for shopping!

Old Fashioned Family Holiday Festival – Riverside.  Dec. 7th 2-7pm. Carriage rides, tours, photos with Santa and more. Free.

Whitehall’s Victorian Christmas Tea – Dec 7th at 3pm. $35
Old Louisville Holiday Home Tour  – Dec 7-8th. Noon-6pm $25 in advance/$30 day of.
Santa at the Zoo during the Louisville Zoo Santa Safari that takes place December 7th-8th and 14-15th at 10, noon and 2pm. Ticket info on their website, Polar Express 4-D show too!
Cardmaking at the American Printing House for the Blind on Saturday Dec. 7th from 10:30-12:30pm.  Good for all ages (and all holidays!).  Registration required (call 899-2213)

The Nature of Christmas in Goshen at the Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve: FREE!  Hayrides, Gift and Craft booths, free food and more. December 7 from 12-3pm. Santa & Mrs. Claus will be there and there’s usually little gifts for the kids.

Holiday Cookie Stroll in Jeffersonville – Dec 7th 1-3pm – sells out so get tickets when they go on sale!

Light Up St. Matthews – Dec. 7 4-6pm Brown Park

Jeffersonville Holiday Home Tour – Dec 7th 5-8pm

Bardstown Road Aglow – Dec. 7th 5-10pm Evening of shopping and entertainment, fun for parents. Seriously, don’t you dare bring your kids for cocktails.  Sorry, now I feel bad for saying that. Wait, bring your kids……if they are 21+ 😉

Nutcracker in a Nutshell: Dec. 7th at 2 or 7pm  Enjoy a shorter, family friendly holiday classic at the Louisville Palace!

The Louisville Chorus performs Christmas Wonderland at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Albany at 7pm on December 7th.  Student $5 Senior $15 General $20.  Also, Christmas at St. Brigid on December 14th at 7:30.

Holiday on Gaslight Square in Jeffersontown.  Dec 7th from 6-8pm light up, carriage rides, music and more

The Nutcracker – Louisville Ballet on various dates from December 7-22nd.
North Pole Express at Kentucky Dinner Train in Bardstown – various dates starting December 8th.  $60 for adults, $45 for kids up to the age of 12.  1.5hr ride and meal with Santa and gifts 🙂  

The Louisville Christmas Show Free admission and the a free photo with Santa. Shop like crazy. December 13,14,15th  

Christmastide at Locust Grove – Dec 13-14th Music, storytelling, crafts and refreshments. Fri: 5:30-9pm, Sat. 4-9pm.  Fee for admission adults $6, children $3 ($18 family max)
Breakfast with Santa at Rivue – Dec. 14th 9am – noon. (Also on Dec. 21)

Santa will be at the Walgreens in Clarksville, IN on Dec 14th from 11 am to 1pm. Free 4×6 photo with Santa.
