Tuesday: Take a walk across the Pedestrian Bridge at Waterfront Park. You can walk all the way to Indiana while enjoying beautiful views of downtown Louisville! There are playgrounds on either side and a spray ground on the Louisville side. Enjoy al fresco dining at Captain’s Quarters, a Louisville favorite. Wednesday: Visit the Falls of the Ohio State Park in
Southern Indiana. Then check out the
Howard Steamboat Museum to learn about the Ohio River’s rich steamboat heritage. After that head over to Schimpff’s Confectionery and Museum for a treat and to see candy related artifacts.
Thursday: Visit Old Louisville. Take one of the many tours offered at the Old Louisville Visitor’s Center! The Conrad-Caldwell House offers tours, check their website for times. And
be sure to visit Louisville’s historic Central Park. Or if historical tours aren’t really your thing, visit Kentucky Kingdom.
Friday: Visit Bardstown Road and Nulu for eclectic and unique shops and restaurants. There are funky record shops like Better Days and Guestroom Records on Frankfort Avenue. Visit Mayan Café, Dragon King’s Daughter, or Café Mimosa for dinner. Then visit Louisville Cream, which serves fantastic ice cream, or Muth’s Candy, which has been open in the same location since 1921, for dessert.
Saturday: Before you depart for home, head down to the Louisville Visitor’s Center on South Fourth Street. It’s a great way to learn more about Louisville’s history and landmarks and see what you might have missed!
