7 Free Activities/Events for November
1. Monday November 2 – Monday November 30
Drop into several different Louisville Free Public Library locations and make Holiday Cards for Soldiers. The cards are for the 11th Aviation Command who are currently deployed overseas. This event is an all day drop-in event at the library locations listed, see the listing here.
2. Thursday, November 5
Meet the VeggieTales characters Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber at Chick-Fil-A St. Matthews and the Mall St. Matthews. Meet and greet with the characters from 5pm-8pm in a special appearance at CFA! VeggieTales Live is coming to Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday, November 8.
3. Friday, November 6
Clarksville’s Fall Harvest Hayride will be fun! Join in on an autumn hayride, bonfire, smores, music entertainment and free games for the kids. The event runs from 6:00pm-8:30pm at Lapping Park. All activities are free; please bring one canned good to donate to local charity.
4. Saturday November 7
Head to the Newburg Library for the Free Tree Giveaway! It’s from 1:30 to 2:30pm. Help beautify the Newburg neighborhood by learning about cleaning the air and cooling the city. They are giving away 35 free baby trees to the first 35 people. They are also serving hot chocolate and will have stories and crafts; this is fun for all ages.
5. Monday November 9
The first week of classes with FIT4Mom Louisville East Stroller Strides is free! Join them for their first indoor class of STROLLER STRIDES at Oxmoor Mall. Class will begin at 9am and will be followed by a play date at the Oxmoor Center Tot Lot.
6. Monday November 16, 12pm – 2pm
If you are a mother to a baby six-months or younger, come to Mama’s Hip for their New Mama Group every Monday from 12pm-2pm. Make a new friend and find like-minded mamas to talk about the ups and downs and ins and outs of parenthood. No registration required. Mama’s Hip is located at 1559 Bardstown Road.
7. Monday, November 30, 9am-10am
Free Play Date with Mama’s Hip at Kentucky Science Center. Join a friend and meet up at Kentucky Science Center for a play date in their newly remodeled Science in Play exhibit. Hands on fun for families with kiddos up to five years old. This play date is free for Mama’s Hip families! Come for the playdate and stay and play as long as you like.
