Get ready for a “street party” as the festival of German heritage returns to Fourth Street Live!. Louisville Strassenfest will commence on September 22nd from 5pm-9pm and September 23rd from 11am-9pm. Louisvillians can expect German-inspired food, an abundance of festive beers, and unforgettable live performances. Join the Facebook event here.
Entertainment and programming is presented by the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts and promises to bring an array of acts—on stage and off. Friday will kick off with CirqueLouis and band, PROST! and Saturday will feature CirqueLouis, PROST!, Misty Mountain String Band, Zinzinnati Bierband, and the March Madness Marching Band.
Saturday will include Stein Hoisting competitions and a “chicken dance-off.” And specifically for children, a variety of kid stations will be available, such as: face painting, pretzel Play-Doh making, and dress-up booths.
Germany’s No.1 food truck will make its grand return in addition to a variety of German-inspired food vendors. Fourth Street Live’s! own Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant will also tap its fest beer for attendees.
Admission is free but VIP packages can be purchased for $20 that includes an official Strassenfest mug, collectible 2017 Strassenfest pin, and four drink tickets.
