Check out the Holiday in the City website for info about all of the downtown festivities starting November 23.

Keep tabs on the Louisville Free Public Library events – they have multiple locations where you have the opportunity to make holiday cards for soldiers and other crafts.

Christmas at the Galt House will not be taking place as in past years. 

November 4, 10am-4pm: Christmas at CAL.

November 4, 6-9pm: Holiday in the Woods at the Little Loom House.

November 9th, 6-9pm: Holiday Open House in Jeffersonville.

November 10th, 7pm tree lighting at The Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass

November 10th to the 12th is the Festival of Trees and Lights at Louisville Slugger Field. Hosted by the Children’s Hospital Foundation, hundreds of volunteers design and decorate Christmas trees, wreaths and hand crafted holiday items – all of which are for sale to raise funds for Norton Children’s Hospital. Festival Family Night is 11/10.

November 11th, 9am-4pm: Eastern High School Holiday Boutique.

November 11th, 10am-5pm: Holiday Open House at Work the Metal.

November 11th, 10am-6pm: NuLu Jingle Fest.

November 11th, 10am: Neopixel Holiday Workshop at LVL1 Hackerspace.

November 11th, 4-8pm Celebration of Lights in Shelbyville

November 11th-December 24th it’s Santa’s Wonderland at Bass Pro Shops. A bunch of free activities and great opportunities to get photo with Santa.

November 11th, 18th, 10:30am – 3pm: Holiday “Build Your Own” Workshops with Zaniac

November 14-16th, times vary by day: Temptations Holiday Boutique at The Olmsted.

November 14th, 5:30pm: Whitehall Garden’s Candlelight Tour.

November 17th – December 31st is the Kentucky Horse Park’s Southern Lights Stroll (11/16 at 6:30pm) and Holiday Festival.

November 17th – December 31st, Lights Under Louisville at the Louisville Mega Cavern will be open.

November 18th – December 23rd, times vary: Derby Dinner Playhouse A Fairytale Christmas. Price includes food , book early – these typically sell out.

November 18th, 10:30am: Scrooge’s Christmas Journey at Actor’s Theatre

November 18th, 12-4pm: Mrs. Claus is Here! at Learning Express Toys of Louisville to help your child write a letter to Santa.

November 19th, 6:30pm: Light Up Simpsonville.

November 21, 7:30pm: It’s a Wonderful Life at Paul W. Ogle Cultural and Community Center, Indiana University Southeast.

November 21st-December 23rd A Christmas Carol is being presented by Actor’s Theatre.

November 24th, 4-11pm: Light Up Louisville including a Skating Rink, children’s activities, vendors, Santa’s Workshop, and Santa’s Arrival. Click here for the full calendar of events.

Starting November 24th is Charlestown’s Christmas City.

November 22, 5:30-7:30pm: Light Up Lyndon

November 24th & 25th: Candy cane & ribbon candy making demonstrations at Schimpff’s.

November 24th – January 26th: Jeffersonville’s Skating Rink will be open! Located at the corner of Market and Spring Streets.

Starting November 24th visit Yuletide at Yew Dell on select days. Snow village, model trains, crafts, workshops and Santa.

November 24th, 6am – 3pm: Black Friday Bash at Jefferson Mall.

November 25th is the  Holiday Fest in New Albany.

November 25th, 4-7pm: Light Up Jeffersonville. Light up takes place at 6:30pm. Parade, train rides, live entertainment and more!

November 25th, 5 – 8pm: Holiday Brite Nite at Paddock Shops.

November 25th – December 23, Friday 5-9pm, Saturday and Sunday 12-5pm, Closed Monday – Thursday: Winter Wonderland at Fourth Street Live! FREE Santa Photo experience with Santa at the North Pole!

November 25th, 8pm is Home for the Holidays at the Kentucky Center.

November 25th – December 25th: Toyland Christmas lights.

November 25th & 26th: Reindeer Experience at Santa’s Toys in Santa Claus, IN

November 26th, 5:30-7:30pm: Christmas on the Square on Historic Gaslight Square (new location for this year).

November 28th – December 3rd, Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Recommended for ages 4+.


First two weekends in December: Visit the Annual Dickens Christmas Festival, at the KY Renaissance Festival Grounds in Eminence, KY.  Scenes from Charles Dickens “A Christmas Carol,” Christmas Caroling, photos with Santa & Mrs. Claus + shopping and more!

December 1st-23rd: The Santaland Diaries (ages 13+) at Victor Jory Theatre.

December 1st & 2nd,  WinterFair at Thomas Jefferson Unitarian Church.

December 1st, 2nd, 3rd: U of L Dance Theatre presents “Clara’s Dream” at the School of Music’s Comstock Hall.

December 1st, 8th and 15th, 6pm: Elf-apalooza at the Galt House. Admission is a toy per child for Toys for Tots.

December 1st, 5-8pm: Light Up The Village at Westport Village. Family Scholar House will be on site collecting toys (optional).

December 2nd, 9am-7pm: Olde Tyme Christmas on Frankfort Avenue.

December 2nd, 9th, 16th, 10:30am – 3pm: Holiday “Build Your Own” Workshops with Zaniac

December 2nd – 16th: The Best Christmas Pageant Ever (sensory-sensitive performance is Dec 9th).

Starting December 2nd, the Kentucky Railroad Museum will have the Santa Express and North Pole Express Running. Check out their website for dates and times!

December 2nd & 9th, 8:30am & 10:30am: Cakes with Kris Kringle at the Kentucky Derby Museum. 

December 2nd, 8:30-10am: Sensory Friendly Santa Experience hosted by Families for Effective Treatment of Autism of Louisville at Oxmoor Center.

December 2nd, 9-11am: Southern High School Breakfast with Santa.

December 2nd, 10:30am-3pm: Issa Christmas Extravaganza. Vendors & snacks with Santa.

December 2nd, 11am-3pm: Christmas Cookie Stroll in Downtown Jeffersonville.

Goshen Christmas eventDecember 2nd is the Nature of Christmas in Goshen from 12-3pm. Free food, artisans and gift booths, crafts, hayrides, music, and Santa & Mrs. Claus with gift bags and treats (quantities limited). Free, donations encouraged.

December 2nd, noon-7pm: Christmastide at Locust Grove. Interpreters will give you an 1816 holiday experience. Ticketed but free for children ages 6 and under.

December 2nd, 1-4pm: Holiday Laser Party at Gheens Science Hall & Rauch Planetarium.

December 2nd, 1-4pm: A Country Christmas at Blackacre.

December 2n, 2-5pm: Park DuValle Holiday Festival. 

December 2nd, 2-6pm: Old Fashioned Family Holiday Festival at Riverside, the Farnsley-Moremen Landing.

December 2nd, 3-6pm: Light Up St. Matthews.

December 3rd, 10-11am: Heifer Breakfast & Gift Market. Take part in a unique gifting experience of purchasing animals (which will not go home with you) to help end hunger and poverty in the world. Light breakfast provided.
