We are all about free November events! Here’s a selection of FREE festivals and family events around Kentuckiana.

Sundays from 12pm to 5pm: Free admission to the Speed Art Museum.

November 1-December 6 from 5:30 to 7:30pm: Attend a six week reading, discussion, and storytelling program called PrimeTime. Participants are elementary age children and their families. Dinner will be provided for participants. Patrons must register for this event and attend 6 sessions located at the Fairdale Library; call 502-375-2051. This event is sponsored by the Kentucky Humanities and Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives.

November 2 6pm-7pm: Young Gems Girls Club occurs every Thursday at Baxter Community Center.

November 3 from 6 to 8:30pm: Enjoy the Fall Harvest Hayride in Clarksville.

November 4 from 9am-12pm: There is a free workshop at Home Depot-building a military humvee! Register online HERE.

November 4 at 2pm: The free performances of Kentucky Shakespeare’s two-actor tour of Twelfth Night kicks off at the Main Library, touring all LFPL locations during November and December.

November 4, 11, 18, 25 from 1pm-4pm: Free drop-in every Saturday between Halloween and Christmas make a free child’s bracelet at Treehouse Artisans and Merchants. Must pre-register.

November 5 from 1:30 to 2:30pm: There is a free family storytelling event at the Main Library featuring stories by Cynthia Changaris and Mary Jo Huff

November 10 from 5pm to 8pm: Family Fall Festival at Chick-Fil-A Jefferson Commons.

November 7, 14, 21, and 28  from 2pm to 3pm: Listen Learn Create! Enjoy learning about Louisville’s rich history with the Louisville Children’s Mobile Museum. Call 245-7332 to register.

November 11 from 11am to 3pm: Second Saturday Family Day at Frazier Museum features history and stories centered around Native Americans.

November 14 and 16 from 6pm-7pm 4-H Art Club at Middletown Library.

November 18 from 10am to 4pm: Family S.T.E.A.M. Day at South Central Regional Library will be a full day of family fun exploring science, technology, engineering, art, and math.

November 18 from 1pm to 2pm explore fingerprinting with the 4-H Cloverbuds at the Middletown Library. For ages 6+ call 245-7332 to register.

November 21, 28, and 30 at 6:30pm: Nutcracker Family Storytimes with Louisville Ballet at select Louisville Free Public Libraries. Call individual library to pre-register.

November 24th, 4-11pm: Light Up Louisville including a Skating Rink, children’s activities, vendors, Santa’s Workshop, and Santa’s Arrival. Click here for the full calendar of events. (additional fees may apply for activities)

November 25 from 9am-12pm: There is a free workshop at Home Depot-craft a picture frame holiday ornament! Register online HERE.

November 25 from 10am-11am: Family Nature Club at Hounz Lane Park. Join LFPL for a monthly Family Nature Club meet-up at local parks and nature preserves. The meetings will include nature exploration, hiking, and play! Families with all age children are welcome.
