Teen Book Clubs Louisville

If you are looking for book clubs for your older child, tween, or teen, check out one of these fantastic options! There are several offered by the Louisville Free Public Library and Oldham County Public Library, as well other community partners.

 

The Oldham County YMCA hosts a book club on the first Thursday of each month at 11:45am.

The Mayor’s Book Club meets at the Main Library on the third Wednesday of each month from 12pm-1pm. This is a great option for teens who homeschool!

There is a Teen/Adult Book Club at Down Syndrome of Louisville. It’s a great opportunity for members to meet and talk with other people in the community for a great social experience for everyone. The club meets every Wednesday from 5pm-6pm.

Participate in Reading Buddies at Middletown Library on select Saturdays. Older student volunteers are paired with a younger child to read a book with a new friend. Register to be either a reader or a buddy. Call 245-7332.

Citizen Girls! Social Justice Book Club at Speed Art Museum. It appears as though the group may be on hiatus, but hopefully it will resume soon! For more information or to join the group, contact Eileen Yanoviak at 502-634-2719 or eyanoviak@speedmuseum.org.

Reading Cafe at the Fairdale Library, meets on the first Thursday of each month from 6pm-7pm. Discuss a new book with snacks and crafts each month.

Who Was Book Club at the Southwest Regional Library is centered around the popular biography book series Who Was… Call 502-933-0029 for future dates and inquiries.

Community Book Club hosted by Carmichael’s Bookstore each month on the last Tuesday at 7pm. It may be more suited for older teens.

Kid’s Book Club at South Central Regional Library on the second Tuesday each month at 4:30pm.

The Louisville Free Public Library has Magic Tree House Club meet ups at the Fern Creek, and Westport branch locations.

  • Westport- 502-394-0379 meets on the 2nd Thursday from 6:30pm-7:30pm

Middletown Library (LFPL) hosts a children’s book club on the third Wednesday of each month. It’s called Middletown Page Turners and it occurs from 4:30pm-5:30pm for children ages 8-11. Different titles and/or the first book in a series will be explored. This is a new program, so check it out!

In addition to book clubs, many of the Louisville Free Public Library branches host anime clubs, teen advisory boards, teen-specific meet ups each week, homeschool clubs, and so much more. The Oldham County Public Library has many options for teens to get involved as well, including teen volunteer opportunities, gaming days, and a writers group.
