Weekend Picks: March 2-4

Weekend family fun events

Matt Milosevich WLKY

It has been so rainy and we have a weekend of sunshine, thank goodness!

LouCity FC is hosting a kickoff event. It’s family-friendly & FREE event. Meet players of Louisville City FC, engage in fun challenges with the players, get autographs, fun photo booth, refreshments and more. It’s 6:00-8:00 PM at 12101 Sycamore Station Place, Louisville, KY 40299
If you are looking for a night out, head to Derby Style Soiree to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters. Matt Milosevich and I will both be there to help out and have fun!

Here’s something for teens (but they also say 10+ so check with them if you aren’t sure) and parents – Intro to Insect Identification 10a-noon. That’s right – education is fun. This event is at Idlewild Butterfly Farm and come with a $40 ticket price because they have a guest entomologist there for this special event/class.

Bugs not your thing? What about arcade games? The Louisville Arcade Expo is this weekend in Jtown and it will be all about some throwback games and is perfect if you have a parent/child combo that really loves their video games because again, this one has a pretty high ticket price as well. However, kids 10 and under get in free with a paying adult and they have a costume contest!

The Anchorage Children’s Theatre is putting on Shrek The Music Jr. What fun!  They have a 2pm show on Sunday.  Then, after the show, go for a walk on Anchorage Trail with your family.

P.S. – Check out our events calendar for more ideas!
