Review of Christi’s Café in Louisville, KY

After watching many episodes of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives my son suggested we should find a restaurant that could qualify for the show and we agree that Christi’s Café fits the bill! When you step inside you immediately get the diner feel, with black and white photos of celebrities decorating the walls. Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean are just a few of the famous faces you’ll see. Christy’s is an intimate experience with about 20 tables or so, closely packed. A carry-out bar stayed busy the entire time we were there.

 

 

My kids were super excited to learn that Christi’s served breakfast all day and my oldest son quickly decided on a plateful of biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon. My other son also wanted breakfast and decided on pancakes, bacon, and toast. They both loved their meals! My husband and I both tried dinner and my husband loved his burger and my dinner was yummy as well. Christi’s Café also advertises the Big Dixie Challenge which is a 3 pound burger and 2 pounds of fries. If you eat it all you get is a shirt! We were not up for the challenge but someone had just completed it as we were arriving. We were informed that if you toss your cookies before you leave, it doesn’t count!

Christi’s Café has great prices, big portions and a variety of foods to choose from. Their homemade cakes looked tasty as well but we were all too full to try some out. If you need a reason for a trip south on Dixie Highway, Christi’s Café will not disappoint. Go on a Monday and Kids Eat Free (deal may change at any time)!
