They have a longstanding tradition of good food, service, and outdoor dining atmosphere. This location offers family fun outdoors by the river. And, there’s lots of space for kids to get their wiggles out.

The Irish Rover   This staple on Frankfort Avenue is a lovely place to people watch the traffic up and down historic Frankfort Ave. I have been here a handful of times both with family and with just my husband and have absolutely loved the atmosphere and the food. People watching is fun!

The Grape Leaf   My husband and I recently dined here for the first time for an anniversary celebration. We have definitely put it on our “to do again” list. Dine outside and feel like you’ve been transported to a romantic, quaint city faraway. It’s family-friendly as well.

Captains QuartersCaptain’s Quarters  Their seafood menu is loaded, they offer a reasonably priced kid’s menu, and have a Sunday brunch. It can get busy but with the big lawn for outdoor dining along the river, it’s laid back and relaxed – you can even order it “to-go” and eat casually out on the lawn.  Sunset over the Ohio is lovely when paired with fried green chile wontons!

Village Anchor   A great brunch spot tucked away in quaint Anchorage. They have a nice kids’ menu and is great for introducing kids to someplace a little more upscale. Before of after your meal, you can take a walk along Anchorage Trail.

The Cafe   Just discovered this jewel on the eastern side of downtown. Check out their Facebook page for updates-they have a patio that cannot be passed up! They have excellent salads and dessert.

Garage Bar
Nulu is a great place to spend an evening.  They have wood-fired pizzas that are really delicious and with such a unique outdoor setting, everyone will like the atmosphere.  Plus, when you are finished eating or even before, you can stroll along Market St and explore!

Plump peacock middletown kentuckyPlump Peacock is tucked away in the historic area of Middletown and is superb. When the weather is nice, their patio area takes you away and is so relaxing. It’s fantastic for brunch, they have menus for breakfast through lunch and you must leave room for dessert. Here’s our review.
