Free events in May! Take your family out to enjoy some of the many free events in May. The sun is shining and the temperature is warming up. It’s the perfect month to explore all that Louisville has to offer.

Speed Museum admission is Free from 12pm-5pm.

Farm Animal Feeding at Blackacre Conservancy at 9:30am.

Every Friday
Tiny Art Tales at KMAC Museum for preschool aged kids & their parents. 10:30 – 11:15am.

Enter the Fest-A-Ville with a Pegasus Pin and kids 12 and under get FREE rides from 4 – 6pm. *Pin required for ages 6+

Green Tree Mall Kids Club– 11am – 12 pm. Zoo educators with live animals at Center Court.

Teen Tuesday at Middletown Library– 3 – 4pm, middle and high schoolers.

Splash– Water at Marshall Playground and Sprayground and Cliffside Playground and Sprayground turns on May 1 at 10am.

Wednesday, May 2
Great Steamboat Race– Begins at 6:00pm along the banks of the Ohio River.

Thursday, May 3
Pegasus Parade– 5:00pm along W. Broadway from Broadway to 9th St.

Arts in Play– Ages 0-5, with Mama to Mama at Family Health Center Broadway.

Friday, May 4
First Friday Trolley Hop, 7:00am – 11:45pm.

Saturday, May 5

Family Fun Day at KMAC Museum- 11am – 3pm. Family art making for all ages!

DIY Derby Party- Not going to the track? Have a kid-friendly Derby Party at home. Much of what you need you may already have on hand. Here are a few ideas!

Sunday, May 6
Cinco de Mayo Fiesta– 2 – 9pm on Fourth Street Live! Mariachis, balloons, face-painting, piñatas, special dance performances and local Latino salsa groups.

Tuesdays, May 8 & 15

Free t-shirt days at Louisville Cards baseball games. First fans through the gates get a special shirt.  (Admission rates apply, games are not free to attend but they are affordable)

Friday, May 11 – Sunday, May 13
The Flea Off Market– Friday 4:30 – 10pm with a free concert. Saturday 11am – 6pm. Sunday 11am – 5pm.

Saturday, May 12 
How-To Festival 2018– 10am – 3pm at the Main Library Downtown. A large, unique variety of interactive learning experiences offered by local experts and small businesses at this 7th annual event.

Saturday, May 19
14th Annual Forest Fest – Bluegrass and Americana Music Festival at Jefferson Memorial Forest. Admission is free, but there is a $10 parking fee.

Sunday, May 20
10th Annual Buy Local Fair– 12 – 6pm at Louisville Water Tower Park

Community Kids Yoga Class– 3 – 4pm at Omology Wellness Center. Free 60 minute yoga class for kids 6-10. Donations accepted.

Thursday, May 24
Playdate at Kentucky Science Center– 5 – 7pm for kids 0-4 and their caregivers.

Saturday, May 26
Mat Making for the Homeless– 11am -1pm at My Dog Eats First. 2509 Portland Ave. Help weave mats out of plastic bags. Bring scissors!

Monday, May 28
Subway Fresh Fit Hike, Bike and Paddle– 7:30am at Waterfront Park.

Wednesday, May 31
Waterfront Wednesday– Enjoy the music of J Roddy Walston and The Business, Sunflower Bean and Parker Millsap, 6pm at Louisville Waterfront Park.
