Events spanning November and December

Keep tabs on the Louisville Free Public Library events – they have multiple locations where you have the opportunity to make holiday cards for soldiers and other crafts.

Christmas at the Galt House will not be taking place in the same way it has in years past. Instead, there are a serious of special events. 

Louisville’s Holiday in the City and downtown skating rink will not be taking place this year.

November 10 -December 24 it’s Santa’s Wonderland at Bass Pro Shops. A bunch of free activities and great opportunities to get photo with Santa.

November 16 -December 15, fresh wreath making workshop at Forage on various dates.

November 17 – December 22, times vary: Derby Dinner Playhouse. A Velveteen Rabbit Christmas. Price includes food , book early – these typically sell out.

November 20-December 23: A Christmas Carol is being presented by Actor’s Theatre.

Starting November 23 is Charlestown’s Christmas City.

November 25 – December 25: Toyland Christmas lights.

Louisville Orchestra presents Messiah – several dates/locations.

November 3, 6-9pm: Holiday in the Woods at the Little Loom House.

November 4, 10am – 4pm: Saint Agnes Christmas Boutique.

November 8, 6-9pm: Holiday Open House in Jeffersonville.

November 9, 5-9pm: St. Matthews Holiday Walk.

November 9, 7pm tree lighting at The Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass

November 9th to the 11th is the Festival of Trees and Lights at Louisville Slugger Field. Hosted by the Children’s Hospital Foundation, hundreds of volunteers design and decorate Christmas trees, wreaths and hand crafted holiday items – all of which are for sale to raise funds for Norton Children’s Hospital. Festival Family Night is 11/9.

November 10, 9am-3pm: Eastern High School Holiday Boutique.

November 10, 10am-7pm: NuLu Jingle Fest.

November 10, 4-8pm Celebration of Lights in Shelbyville

November 13-15, times vary by day: Temptations Holiday Boutique at The Olmsted.

Novemeber 13, 6 – 7:30pm: Adult art, Christmas at Griffin Center. 

November 17, 9am – 2pm: Christmas Shopping Day & Craft Fair at St. Paul.

November 17, 10:30am: Scrooge’s Christmas Journey at Actor’s Theatre.

November 17, 6:30pm: Light Up Simpsonville.

November 21, 5:30-7:30pm: Light Up Lyndon

November 23, 5:30pm: Whitehall Garden’s Candlelight Tour.

November 23 & 24: Candy cane & ribbon candy making demonstrations at Schimpff’s.

Starting November 23 visit Yuletide at Yew Dell on select days. Snow village, model trains, crafts, workshops and Santa.

November 24, 10am is Home for the Holidays Family Concert at the Kentucky Center.

November 24, 4-7pm: Light Up Jeffersonville. Light up takes place at 6:30pm. Parade, train rides, live entertainment and more!

November 24, 6-7pm: Holiday Fest in New Albany.

November 25, 5:30-7:30pm: Christmas on the Square at Pavilion on the Square.

November 24, 8pm: Home for the Holidays Pop Concert.

November 28, 8pm: Swan Lake

November 30, 2-7pm:  WinterFair at Thomas Jefferson Unitarian Church.

November 30, 10am & 7pm: Bah Hum Bug at SA School for the Performing Arts.

November 30, 5-8pm: Light Up The Village at Westport Village.

November 30, 7pm: U of L Dance Theatre presents “Clara’s Dream” at the School of Music’s Comstock Hall.

 

December

First two weekends in December: Visit the Annual Dickens Christmas Festival, at the KY Renaissance Festival Grounds in Eminence, KY.  Scenes from Charles Dickens “A Christmas Carol,” Christmas Caroling, photos with Santa & Mrs. Claus + shopping and more!

Multiple dates and times in December, The Nutcracker at SA School for Performing Arts.

Starting December 1, the Kentucky Railroad Museum will have the Santa Express and North Pole Express Running. Check out their website for dates and times!

December 1-2: Old Louisville Holiday Home Tour.

December 1 & 2:Ballard Holiday Halls Arts & Craft Show.

December 1, 9am-5pm: WinterFair at Thomas Jefferson Unitarian Church.

December 1, 9am – 4:30pm: ECO Kids Discovery Days at Bernheim. Ornament making. 

December 1, 10am – 1pm, bring a new, unwrapped toy to Derby City Pediatric Dentistry (valued at least $5) to benefit Toys for Tots and get a photo with Santa, a craft, holiday treats and a chance to win a $100 Kroger gift card. 

December 1, 10am – noon: Wreathmaking at Bernheim.

December 1, 10am-10pm: Olde Tyme Christmas on Frankfort Avenue.

December 1, 11am-3pm: Christmas Cookie Stroll in Downtown Jeffersonville.

December 1 is the Nature of Christmas in Goshen from 12-3pm. Free food, artisans and gift booths, crafts, hayrides, music, and Santa & Mrs. Claus with gift bags and treats (quantities limited). Free, donations encouraged.

December 1, 1-3pm: Holiday Laser Party at Gheens Science Hall & Rauch Planetarium.

December 1, 2-6pm: Old Fashioned Family Holiday Festival at Riverside, the Farnsley-Moremen Landing.

December 1, 2pm & 7pm: Bah Hum Bug at SA School for the Performing Arts.

December 1 at 3pm & 2 at 2pm, : U of L Dance Theatre presents “Clara’s Dream” at the School of Music’s Comstock Hall.

December 5, 4:30-7pm: Annual Birthday Bash/Holiday Party at KaZoing. Admission is one unopened, gift per child that will be donated to foster children. Santa will also be there.

December 6, 5-8pm: Holiday Open House at Work the Metal.

December 6, 4pm & 7pm: The Tale of the Drowsy Shepherd. 

December 6-8: Festival of the Nativities in Crestwood. Read all about this free event on their website. Over 500 nativities to view!
