father's day louisville

We enjoy showing our Dads how much we love and appreciate them, and some businesses in our community have jumped in to help. But why?

Why do we celebrate Father’s Day? Father’s Day in the United States has an interesting history. Presidents Woodrow Wilson and Calvin Coolidge both tried to persuade Congress to make it a national holiday and were turned down. In 1966, President Lyndon B Johnson issued a presidential proclamation designating the third Sunday in June to honor fathers. But finally, in 1972, President Richard Nixon signed Father’s Day as a permanent national holiday.
