Free events in January! The holidays may be over, but the family fun continues. January boasts some fun opportunities and the best news is these events are all FREE!

Free fun in January

As always, our calendar is ready for you at any time when you are looking for things to do with your family. There are many more free events in January listed on our calendar. 

 

Here are some events for you and your family!

Every Sunday (Until March 2021)- Speed Museum admission is Free from 12pm-5pm.

Every Friday- Tiny Art Tales at KMAC from 10:30-11:15am.

Various Days in January – Family Archaeology Lab at Farnsley-Moremen Landing. Drop in 10am- 4pm (tour weather permitting at 11:30).

Arts in Play Family Playgroup – Several dates in January

The Model Train Show at Southwest Library, various dates through January 5. It’s a wonderful display open to the public to enjoy during the library’s business hours. You can find details by clicking here.

LENA at Arts in Play – UofL – January 17 – March 20. Join Mama to Mama for a 10-week playgroup session that incorporates the Arts in Play Growbabydance curriculum and the LENA program that strengthens the adult/child dyad through interactive talking.


January 4

Home Depot Kids Workshop– Easel with whiteboard from 9:00am-12:00pm. Free but should register here.

Squallis Puppeteers 1st Saturday Show from 10am -2pm. This is a unique puppet show based on “The Take of the Tricky Fox.” It’s fun for kids ages 3-8. Everyone can enjoy a puppet show and even choose to make one! 

Slime Time at the Louisville Free Public Library (Main Branch) from 2:00-3:00pm.


January 5

Watercolor Snowflakes Craft at Learning Express, 12pm-1pm. They have quite a few free events in January, click here to see more


January 11

Discovery Days: Mythbusters – Carnegie Center – 10am-1pm. Free, but registration is requested.

The Magic Of Skating – Free Clinic at Louisville Skating Academy – 2:15pm-3:15pm – Door prizes, free raffles, face painting and more! Pre-registration is required.

2nd Saturdays – Portland Musume – 12pm-4pm.  

Spring Clinic – The Louisville Ballet School – 10am-1pm.

Tinkergarten Trial – St Matthews Community Park – 11am-12:15pm. For kids and babies 18 months to 8 years old


January 12

Winter Bowl – Anchorage Fire & EMS  – 5pm-6pm


January 19

Keepers of the Dream- A Community Arts Celebration of Dr. King at the Brown Theatre from 5:00-7:00pm.


January 28

Music with Ms. Colleen – Bright Horizons at The Plainview School – 10am-11am
