Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Here are some sweet events for celebrating this holiday in Louisville with your kids!

 

Sweet Treats

Muth’s Candy is celebrating its 99th birthday and they want to share the love with you. Treat your kiddo to a handcrafted confection made by a fourth generation of Louisville candy makers!

Annie May’s Sweet Café is baking up delicious Valentine’s Day treats, including heart-shaped doughnuts, lip and mustache cookies and much more! All of the treats are allergy-friendly – free of nuts, soy, and gluten. They can accommodate a number of other allergies as well. Stock up early for Valentine’s Day parties and gifts. Graeter’s Ice Cream usually has Valentine’s Day specials and fun cakes and treats in their freezers. That’s fun for a family ice cream date! You can also preorder some Black Rasberry Chip Donuts for your sweeties. 

Cellar Door Chocolate is a small batch chocolate confectionary offering some fun holiday treats! What child wouldn’t adore a Love Bug Box filled with chocolate ladybugs, honey bees, and a caterpillar?! Make sure to place your order by Monday the 10th to get them in time for the big day. 

Belmar Baked is offering lots of fun Valentine’s Day treats and classes on how to make decorate your own cookies for the ones you love. 

Heitzman Bakery and Deli has been serving Louisville since 1891. Stop in for heart-shaped cookies and cakes, cupcakes, tortes and more!

Plehn’s Bakery is another long-standing bakery in the Louisville area is. Stop in for a Valentine’s treat or pick up a dessert for home or classroom.

Schimpff’s Confectionery is in Jeffersonville and did you know that they expanded? They have added a huge area. Go pick out some treats for everyone in your family!

Liege and Dairy is offering BOGO waffle sundaes on Valentine’s Day! They bake their waffles to order, so you’re in for a real treat! You can get this deal starting at 6pm on the 14th.  

Sweet Events for the Whole Family 

Whet Your Palette has $12 drop-in painting. The whole family can get crafty and paint what they like! Monday – Saturday 10am – 10pm and Sunday 12 – 7pm.

Head to Barnes and Noble on February 8th at 11am. Area Louisville locations will have a special Valentine-themed story time for kids featuring Always More Love!

For adults and kids 9 and up, Cooking at Millie’s is offering a Valentine’s Day Cookie Decorating workshop on February 8th. Register online for this sweet experience!

On February 9 from 11am – 2pm, Michael’s Kids’ Club is offering Valentine’s day crafts. Price ranges. Drop-in or preregister.

Enjoy a day of shopping and Valentine’s deals at the NuLu Valentine’s Day Open House and take advantage of specials and sales from 10am – 10pm on February 8th.

Get fancied up and head to the Last Puppet Prom for an unforgettable night of family fun! The event occurs on February 9 from 6 – 10pm. This is the 16th annual fundraiser for Squallis Puppeteers.

Visit Uptown Art for a kids’ painting classes on Sundays with Valentine’s Day themes. The class is for a variety of ages.

Mark’s Feed Store Kid’s Valentine’s Day Party is February 11 from 5-8pm at multiple locations, see here. There will be activities, crafts, treats, and of course free kid’s meals! Limit 2 kids meals per adult entree purchased.

Family Date Night at Chick-fil-A Middletown Commons – 5pm-8pm. 

Valentine’s Day Skate at Champs Rollerdome 5pm-8pm. Treat your sweetheart to a romantic night at the rink and you’ll get to skate for free.

Louisville Free Public Library has Valentine’s events at many locations. Check out their calendar and head to a new-to-you library for free fun!

Daddy/Daughter Valentine’s Day Tea Party at Scarlet’s Bakery on February 15th and 16th, two-time slots available. You must reserve your spot in advance. $45 per pair.

Parents Night Out

February 14

Hwang’s Martial Arts has a Parent Date Night event – drop off your kids for some fun from 6-10pm while you go out and have fun! $20 at the door, $15 in advance and at all three of their locations.

Valentines Day Parents Night Out – Fairdale Youth Cheer – 6pm-midnight. Prepay is $20 per child or 2 for $35 for siblings. At the doors is $25 per child or 2 for $40 for siblings. Register for the prepay price by February 11th!

Date Night Drop Off – Baked – 6pm-9pm -Drop off your kids while you enjoy a night on the town. They will learn to create their own meal with professional chefs Christina Jones of Baked and Carlie Cornett of True North Catering! Ideal for kids age 8-12. Your kids will learn to make garlic bread, salad and house-made dressing, spaghetti and meatballs, and cupcakes with buttercream!

Parents Night Out Fundraiser – Salt and Light Baptist Church – 6pm-9pm – The Salt and Light Youth are raising money for camp. They will feed and entertain your children while you can enjoy an evening out. Donations accepted! Pizza, games, a movie, and more!

Join the Iroquois Library dressed in your PJs for Valentine’s crafting and breakfast in the library! The Valentine’s Day Pajama Breakfast begins at 11am.
