Board and You – Each box will be filled with a few fan favorites and have a flower tied to the box to really add a special touch. Mulberry Orchard (Shelbyville)- Saturday, May 9th they will be open for drive-through pickup from 9-12 for Apple Cider Donuts &/or Hornback Farms Honey. You must place your order by phone, email, or FB message so they know how much to prepare. Donuts are $5/half dozen and Honey is $12/pint or $23/quart. Quantities of honey will be limited so place your order soon!

Mother’s Day in Louisville special kid-friendly 30-minute online workshop, art teacher Marci O’Brien will teach kids 7-12 how to make a 3D paper card for Mother’s Day. Kids will learn how to fold, bend, cut & curl to make a 3D flower vase for the front of a beautiful card.

Paper Straw Picture Frame

Supplies

Scissors
Paper Straws
Cupcake Wraps
Construction Paper – you will want an assortment of colores
Picture of your kids or the family
Markers
Glue – hot glue gun worked best to put the straws on – glue stick for other.
Optional – Glitter Glue, washi tape, stickers, and/or crayons to make designs
Magnet, sting, or clothespin for hanging.
Newspaper or plastic table cloth to put down on the surface to protect it.
Apron or large old t-shirt to protect kids clothes

Directions

1. Hot glue straws in a square to construction paper,

2. Place 1 cupcake wrapper in the square. Glue down with glue stick.

2a. Options – take mini cupcake wrapper and glue inside the bigger one. can cut around the edges to add some fun.

3. Cut out pictures of the kids, family, pets, or something mom likes and use the glue stick to glue onto the cupcake wrapper.

4. Use the glitter glue, washi tape, stickers, crayons to decorate the inside of the frame

5. Let dry – if in a hurry, use a hairdryer on the low setting

6. Cut out the extra construction paper around the frame

7. Attached a sting, some ribbon or to the top of the frame by tying the ends to the tops of the staws or take two close pins and pin the ends of the string to the straws.

8. Present to mom

Supplies

Construction Paper – assorted colors – 1 colored for each child, plus one as the base.
Scissors
Glue stick
Markers
Newspaper or plastic table cloth to put down on the surface to protect it.
Apron or large old t-shirt to protect kids clothes
Optional – Washi tape, glitter, metallic paint, stickers

Directions

1. Tracy your child hand on the constitution paper – if doing more then one child, make sure you use the same hand (right or left)

2. Cut out hand(s)

3. Going from latest to smallest – put glue on the side that had the trace marks on it and the glue to construction paper, one on top of the other.

4. Take a marker and write the name of each child on their cut out hand.

5. Have kids decorate around the hands and write sweet notes to mom.

6. Present to mom

Flower Pot

Supplies

Terra cots pot – we like the small ones but any size will do
Acrylic paint – white and at least 2 other colores
A container that you don’t mind having paint in
Water
Paintbrushes
Varnish
Potting soil
Flower seeds
Newspaper or plastic table cloth to put down on the surface to protect it.
Apron or large old t-shirt to protect kids clothes
Try for drying

Directions

1. Add white paint and water to container. Ratio is 4 parts paint to 1 part water

2. Mix with a paintbrush – should be a thin consistency

3. Add in about 5 drops of each of the other colors.

4. take another paintbrush and drag it through the drops, to make it look like a swirl pattern.

5. Take pot and roll it around in paint mixture until it has a good coat all over it

6. Place painted pot on to try and let dry for a least 24 hours

7. Once dry, paint on varnish

8. Let Dry

9. Add in potting soil

10. Plant some seeds

11. Add water

12. Present to mom
