2020 will prove to be a difficult year for many of the traditional holiday events in Louisville that you have grown to love. We will check all of the Christmas events in Louisville of the past and look for new ones. We promise to keep you up to do. Please check back often as this is a work in progress!

You might think that because of the pandemic, there’s nothing to do with your kids. That’s not true! There are still places to see and talk to Santa and get socially distant photos. You can ride in a sleigh with you kids! And, don’t forget about all of the drive-thru options. There are lights EVERYWHERE!

We have scoured the internet to find what is still going on for 2020 Christmas events in Louisville, and updated the following list for you. We hope you can make a ton of wonderful memories this holiday season, despite the chaos of 2020!

Rudolph’s Run – New – An adventure in your car, solving clues to find the missing information to complete Santa’s List. If you complete the list, you will be entered to win a $100 gift card and they will draw a winner each week. They will event have a skating rink at the end. 

November 25 – January 1

Lights at Freeman Lake Park (Elizabethtown) – nightly from 6 – 11pm. Drive thru lights with fun themes like Rudolph, to Christmas themed Star Wars, nativity and more. You turn off your lights and turn on the music! It is free, donations accepted. 

Fete de Noel Ice Skating

November 25 – January 3

Fete de Noel – Paristown. Ice skating rink and winter market. Check their website for times, prices, and covid-19 guidelines. See more information on our ice skating post. One of the most fun Christmas Events in Louisville.

November 27 – End of December 

Charlestown’s Christmas City – some events canceled but they are still putting on the lights and asking those that attend to practice social distancing and be safe, wear a mask. 

November 13 – January 3

Light Up Louisville – Downtown festive light display will include a rainbow of colors to celebrate Christmas, along with holiday-themed gobo lights celebrating Kwanza, Hanukah and all of the seasons special days that seek to reflect the diversity of our community. You can nominate your neighborhood for a Santa convoy! 

November 27-29

Yuletide at Yew Dell – Yew Dell Gardens, purchase a ticket in advance for a certain time for entrance and exit.

Winter Woods Spectacular in Iroquois Park benefiting the Louisville Parks Foundations. This is a ticketed event. Drive through the woods which are lit up with thousands of lights and beautiful wintry scenes. Tickets are $35 per car.

Virtual Breakfast with Santa– 9-11am

Light Up St. Matthews – Virtual event. You can also enter a house decorating contest and use their map to go find houses that are decorated.
