Summer Camp at Jefferson Memorial Forest

DCPD

JMF Camp Join us for a unique day camp experience combining summer fun with nature-based science education activities. We offer a variety of camps for ages 7 to 15. Campers will take on the roles of naturalists, scientists, and adventurers as they explore the Forest and the creatures that inhabit it. Traditional summer camp fun will round out the experience, creating an adventure to remember for a lifetime! What makes Jefferson Memorial Forest Camps special?

• A great counselor-to-camper ratio! We have 2 counselors for every 8 campers.

• A highly trained staff.

• Lots of hands-on nature activities.

• Active adventures outside.

• Campers learn new skills and build confidence in the natural world.

Camp Sessions:

Is your child an adventurer, ready to explore what’s around the next bend in the trail? If so, then Adventure Camp is just what your child needs! Campers explore the trails deep in the forest, shoot bows and arrows, use a map and a compass to discover buried treasure, and learn outdoor survival skills.

Shelter-Water-Fire-Food: These are the four basic human needs for survival. In Wilderness Survival Camp, kids will develop their ability to build a shelter, start a fire, and find food and water in the wilderness.

Discover the exciting world within a pond, lake, stream, and river at Water Wonders And of course, no water-themed camp is complete without water games!

Travel back in time more than 200 years to discover nature and people through Historic Locust Grove Camp. Discover life in the 18th and 19th centuries for the people of Kentucky.

With ECO Extreme spend the week learning backpacking skills, canoeing techniques, Leave No Trace ethics, and more. For 2021, registration will include a one-night campground reservation for the campers and their families to enjoy after camp has ended!

Enter a magical, hidden world in the Forest, where creatures of the imagination live. At Fairies, Trolls, and Gnomes campers use their creativity and natural materials to craft an enchanted land where anything is possible, while learning about the plants and animals of the forest.
