Disc golf is inexpensive and easy to play, even if you haven’t done it before

If you are looking for a fun family activity that doesn’t cost much and gets you outside and moving then I have an idea for you, Disc Golf in Louisville!

Recently my family and I went to Iroquois Park to play 18 holes of disc golf in Louisville and had a great time. We weren’t good but for about 2 hours, there was no complaining and I got all my steps in for the day! Everyone was happy.

The disc golf in Louisville course at Iroquois is a full 18 holes, with championship and standard tees. The course starts near the parking lot next to the Iroquois Amphitheater and winds through open fields and up into the trees. Each hole is marked with a sign showing you where the basket is located, the distance, the Par for the hole, and what is out of bounds.

The first few holes feature open fields and a pond. Then, you head into the trees, which definitely ups the difficulty levels for sure but also features some much appreciated shade. This is great for the summer months, it really make a difference.

Everyone we encountered during our time playing was very nice, full of useful information, and not at all grumpy at us that we were new and not the fastest at completing the holes. It seems those who play, love to see others learning to play.

All you need for disc golf in Louisville are the special frisbees that can be purchased off Amazon (where we got ours) or most local sporting goods stores. For around $20 we got all the discs we needed for a fun family day that was close to home. You can also head to Academy Sports + Outdoors if you need them the same day, they carry them!
