There are plenty of FREE August events to enjoy before and after school begins.

 

It may be August but summer is still in full swing around Louisville. Check out the list below to find some great FREE August events to keep your family smiling.

Shakespeare in the Park – Central Park starting at 8pm, August 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, and 15th.

National Night Out – Various times and locations

August 6

Jeffersonville Riverstage – The Juice Box Heroes with The Skinny. Lawn opens at 6 pm; performances start at 7.

Highview Friday Fest – 6pm, Local music, local food trucks, and community socializing every other Friday, throughout the Summer.

Kids Art Class by Kathleen Spalding – FREE! – Ages 6-12. We’ll be doing Picasso style self portraits in the first class! Every child will have a finished product when the class is over for the day. Each class will be a different project that may use a new set of materials, that we will provide! Limited to 10 spots. RSVP here

 
August 7 

First Friday Hop – Main and Market Streets in Downtown Louisville

Coca-Cola Twilight Cinema – 8:30pm-10:30pm, Sonic the Hedgehog

Free Outdoor Movie Night – St. Stephens Church, Bring a blanket or chair to enjoy a beautiful night under the stars! Popcorn, cotton candy, and snow cones will be available on site for free!! The Disney and Pixar movie ONWARD will be presented! The event begins at 7:30 PM, and the movie will begin at sundown. There will be a school supply giveaway and other giveaways so you won’t want to miss this night of fun!

Paristown Flea! An outdoor vintage market in the historic streets of Paristown in Louisville, KY. Mark your calendars for the third Saturday of each month, it is a great event with 100’s of vendors, food trucks, music and more!

August 25

WFPK Waterfront Wednesday with Christone “Kingfish” Ingram. The free concerts take place on the Big Four Lawn in Louisville’s Waterfront Park. The Big Four Lawn is located next to the Big Four Pedestrian and Bicycle Bridge. The shows open at 5 p.m., with music beginning promptly at 6 p.m.

Unity Fest 502 – 2pm-8pm – A festival designed to foster community in the Limerick neighborhood and throughout District 6! Join us fir a afternoon of live music, live art, dance, vendors, food trucks, health screenings, kids zone, home ownership education and more
