Is your family looking to kick off the fall season with weekend fun? Most of these fall festivals take place on weekends so you can likely pick a few to put on your calendar and hope your busy schedule works out! Louisville is an amazing place to have fun in the fall and September does not disappoint.

Every Saturday: Farm Animal Feedings at Blackacre 9:30am
FREE events at the Louisville Free Public Library
Cooking Matters at the Dare To Care Kitchen – 2pm-4pm. This is a six-week program that starts on Sept 1 and goes until October 6. learn about healthy eating, meal planning on a budget, cooking and nutrition tips, and more! Get a free bag of groceries each week to prepare the foods from class at home.
Virtual Game Night – Make your game night legendary! Play fun online games, answer trivia, laugh ‘til it hurts, and connect with friends near and far. This is a virtual event but you will need to register.
First Friday Trolly Hop – Gallery openings, music, art, and more all over Downtown Louisville! Come down and enjoy a free TARC Zerobus from 7 am till 7 pm and support the arts in Louisville.
2021 USA BMX Derby City Nationals – The event is free to watch but you will have to pay for parking, it is $10 per day or there are other options available. The events start at 8 am and go until 5 pm. Come watch Pros and Amateurs alike go big in Louisville!
WorldFest, Louisville’s premier international festival, is the most diverse, inclusive, and equitable event in the region. On the Belvedere, 11:00 AM-11:00 PM – Friday, Saturday, and Sunday | 11:00 AM-8:00 PM – Monday.
Fleur De Flea Vintage Urban Markets – Over 200 vendors selling vintage, vinyl, antiques, collectibles, funk, junk, curiosities, industrial and more. Grab a bite to eat from one of Louisville’s best food trucks or a cold beverage from one of our pop-up bars. Beer garden too with local breweries. 231 E Witherspoon St Louisville, KY 40202
Subway Fresh Fit Hike, Bike & Paddle Louisville cyclists, paddlers and walkers will be on the move again at the Mayor’s Hike, Bike & Paddle as it returns for another Labor Day at a new location at the Community Boat House at 1325 River Road. All portions of the event have been reworked to ensure participants will be socially distanced.

Middletown’s Family Fun Festival & Craft Show Friday 6-9:30pm and Saturday 10am-9pm
DEE’s Fall Festival at Dee’s 11am-6pm – Join Dee’s for their Fall Festival to kick off the season with lots of harvest fun for the entire family! Porch games, yummy treats, giveaways, and more!
V-Dub Derby at Saint Joseph Childern’s Home 9am-4pm

Big Four Bridge Arts Festival Saturday 10am-7pm and Sunday 10am-5pm
The Flea Off Market -Sat 11am-6pm, Sun 11am-5pm. At the big parking lot at 1000 E. Market St., Louisville, KY in NuLu near Fresh Start Growers’ Supply.
The Big Table – Come hungry. Leave fulfilled! 5pm-7pm. Louisville’s Largest Potluck Enough good food and enough good people can change the world. Magical things happen when we share a meal. We talk. Gaslight Festival Various events during the week including a parade, car show, balloon glow, art show, entertainment and more.
Music in the Park – free concert series. Petersburg Park, 5008 East Indian Trail, 11am-4pm.
Nulu Fest at 600, 700, 800 Blocks of East Market Street 11am-9pm
For the 12th year NuLu is hosting it’s well-known street festival celebrating the continued growth and revitalization of Louisville’s East Market District. Come enjoy live music by sonaBLAST! Records, regional micro-brewed beers, and numerous food and retail booths by local vendors. There will be activities for all ages. The event is free, family-friendly and open to the public.
Springfest 2021 in Old Louisville – Join us at Springfest in Toonerville Trolley Park, near the corner of Brook & Oak Street in Historic Old Louisville. Springfest is Old Louisville’s biggest (normally springtime) festival and neighborhood market and is always FREE and open to the general public. Springfest kicks off at 10 AM and rocks, eats, and shops until 7 PM!Due to COVID, we are requiring free tickets to enter Springfest, in the event contract tracing is required.
Asian Street Food Festival – This event, hosted by the Asia Institute Crane House, will feature appetizers from local Asian Restaurants and performances from local Asian Dance troops including Cardinal Bhangra – Bollywood type dance -and Lotus Lion Dancers. The event will be part of Louisville Welcoming Month.
Louisville Orchestra Free Concert Season Kickoff – 8pm-10pm, Iriquoise Amphitheater. Teddy Abrams conducts a season kickoff concert that is free with no ticket required. The Louisville Orchestra performs music by composers featured throughout the upcoming concerts with an emphasis on the interesting and unique.
A final program will be announced soon but will include music by Louisville native Valerie Coleman, our own Teddy Abrams, selections highlighting the music of Latin America, and a performance with Ethan Murphy — the Louisville Orchestra Young Artist Competition winner for 2020.
