Labor Day Weekend events! School may have just started but local families love this three-day weekend that’s an unofficial goodbye to summer.
The summer temperatures are still here, and so are the events. Find something fun outdoors to do with your family.
Labor Day Weekend events around Louisville will look a bit different for 2021. Major festival events are still not all taking place this year.
Don’t despair. The weather is looking excellent for the weekend. As we have shown you all summer long, Louisville families can find fun all around us. There’s certainly plenty to do.
We have found that outdoor areas are amazing around our city. There are so many parks and creeks, lots tucked away where you didn’t know it was there. Trust us, your kids will love new adventures.

Holiday World – This Indiana amusement park is open for Labor Day weekend. We have a DISCOUNT FOR YOU! The weather looks perfect for a weekend at an outdoor amusement park. Yes, they are open on Monday.
Hike Bike and Paddle is on September 6. If you are looking to get active this weekend, you can still do it. The Hike, Bike, and Paddle is a Labor Day weekend staple! New location: Community Boat House at 1325 River Road. Starting at 8 a.m., the event will showcase demonstrations and group participation in Yoga, Tai Chi, Zumba adhering to social distancing guidelines. There’s fitness fun for everyone.
Catch the waves (not really but, I’m trying here…ok?!) at a local lake. We have some options here. Many of the beaches will close after Labor Day Weekend.
Catch a free outdoor movie in Clarksville! They are showing Jurassic Park on Friday 9/3 starting at 8:15pm. Bring your own blankets, chairs, and foot to Gateway Park. Sorry, no dogs. Info here.
Louisville Bats have several home games with various promotions – giveaways, dog day, fireworks. Check out the schedule online for single game tickets. For Sunday, all kids 12 & younger eat for free!
WorldFest – Friday – Monday of Labor Day weekend. One of the region’s largest international festivals, celebrates its 19th anniversary with four days of expanded world food, live music, dance, culture and education. It takes place downtown on the Belvedere. Definitely make sure you go hungry and try some of the delicious food options.
Belle of Louisville has a variety of options for rides on the river on their boats. They have a picnic lunch cruise for Saturday that looks particularly perfect for families. Click here to see their options for this weekend.

Abbey Road on the River is back for 2021 and takes place over Labor Day weekend 9/2-9/6. This is a ticketed event with lineups each day full of Beatles music, food and more. It’s in Jeffersonville at Big Four Station.
Not into the Beatles? How about a blues festival? That’s what’s happening in Germantown. Admission is free, proceeds from other aspects of the festival will go toward the Germantown Little League. Friday and Saturday, check out info here or click the image above.
Gallrein Farms is hosting a Sunflower & Corn Festival for the first time. They will have sunflower picking, activities, food trucks, vendors and their usually like shopping the farm market and they have a petting zoo. It is Saturday, September 4th from 10am to 5pm and Sunday, September 5th from 12pm to 5pm.
