Fall is a great time to explore Southern Indiana. There are many fun events from festivals to fossils.

 

 

Here are 13+ that stand out to us in Southern Indiana for fall family fun.

Harvest Homecoming – New Albany, October 7-15
This festival is a staple of autumn coming in Southern Indiana. Booth days are October 12-15.

Open October 6 & 7 and October 13 & 14. Doors open at 7pm. Tickets are $18.- Literally, A Haunted House at Culbertson Mansion in New Albany. 

Steamboat Nights – Big Four Station Park, October 6 & 7, Family Fun Zone, rides, balloon glimmer, and more.

National Fossil Day – Clarksville
October 14, 10am-4 pm. Celebrate National Fossil Day at the Falls of the Ohio State Park with a series of special fossil bed hikes, reduced admission for the Interpretive Center, guides on the collecting piles and more.

A Haunting Good Time – Charlestown. October 20th- 22nd, 10:00am.Tours, crafts, scavenger hunts, and more!

Depot Days: Fall Family Fest – October 21st, Jeffersonville, 11am-2pm. Arts & crafts, pumpkin painting, inflatables, and more.

Lark Ranch in Lanesville

Run for the Kids 5K– Clarksville, October 21st, 9:00am
This annual race benefits the WHAS Crusade for Children

Sellersburg Fall Craft Market – Sellersburg. October 21st, 9:00am – 2:00pm. Enjoy shopping from local crafters, makers and vendors 

Halloween events

Full Moon Hike – Charlestown, October 28th and November 25th, 8 p.m. It’s all about hiking under the full moon! Go experience a hike like no other.

Fall Harvest Hayride – Clarksville
November 3, 6 p.m.-8:30 p.m.
Nothing says fall like an old fashioned hayride through Lapping Park as the leaves on the trees show off their beautiful colors.

Dia de los Muertos: Day of the Dead – November 4th, Silver Street Park in New Albany, 12:00-4:00pm

Fall into Autumn at French Lick Resort – French Lick
September-October, There are several special events for the entire family going on at the beautiful fall foliage covered grounds of French Lick Resort. Check the website for details.

Pumpkin Picking Time at Joe Huber’s Family Farm and Restaurant – Starlight, Now through October 31
Spend a day pumpkin picking at Huber’s, it’s a Kentuckiana family tradition that may not last much longer.
