13 Southern Indiana Fun Fall Events

Fall is a great time to explore Southern Indiana. There are many fun events from festivals to fossils.

 

 

Here are 13 that stand out to us in Southern Indiana for fall family fun.

Harvest Homecoming – New Albany
October 1-9
This festival is a staple of autumn coming in Southern Indiana. Booth days are October 6-9.

Open September 30th & October 1st and October 7 & 8. Doors open at 7pm. Tickets are $15.- Literally, A Haunted House at Culbertson Mansion in New Albany. 

Clarkfest – Clarksville
October 15, 12-6p.m. It’s at Gateway Park and includes a parade, car show, games, food booths, live music, inflatables, an arts & crafts market, and much more.

National Fossil Day – Clarksville
October 15, 10a.m-4 p.m. Celebrate National Fossil Day at the Falls of the Ohio State Park with a series of special fossil bed hikes, reduced admission for the Interpretive Center, guides on the collecting piles and more.

Full Moon Hike – Charlestown, October 8th and November 5th, 8 p.m. It’s all about hiking under the full moon! Go experience a hike like no other.

A Haunting Good Time – Charlestown. October 21st, 22nd, and 23rd, 10:00am.Tours, crafts, scavenger hunts, and more!

Run for the Kids 5K– Clarksville, October 22nd, 9:00am
This annual race benefits the WHAS Crusade for Children

Sellersburg Fall Craft Market – Sellersburg. October 22nd, 9:00am – 2:00pm. Enjoy shopping from local crafters, makers and vendors 

Big Four Boo Fest – Jeffersonville, October 24th, 5-7 p.m.
Trick or treating, games, music, food trucks and more!

Halloween events

Fall Harvest Hayride – Clarksville
November 4, 6 p.m.-8:30 p.m.
Nothing says fall like an old fashioned hayride through Lapping Park as the leaves on the trees show off their beautiful colors.

Gobbler Games – Clarksville
*Date to be determined*, 10 a.m.-11:30 p.m.
Kids of various ages can compete in these Thanksgiving-type games for a chance to win a frozen turkey!

Fall into Autumn at French Lick Resort – French Lick
September-October, There are several special events for the entire family going on at the beautiful fall foliage covered grounds of French Lick Resort. Check the website for details.

Pumpkin Picking Time at Joe Huber’s Family Farm and Restaurant – Starlight, Now through October 31
Spend a day pumpkin picking at Huber’s, it’s a Kentuckiana family tradition that may not last much longer.
