New Year’s Eve plans change a bit for a lot of people once they have kids. But still, families are looking for fun. Here are some ideas for New Year’s Eve family fun in Louisville. 

Celebrate the a new year, new beginnings, and hope for more positivity in 2023. There certainly is much to be grateful for but there’s also something to be said about flipping the calendar and setting goals for next year. 

Here are some ideas for your families to have fun together for NYE 2022 and New Year’s Day 2023.

Fun ideas for at home!

New Year’s Eve with kids can be fun! It is a great time to stay home and hang out with the family. If you want to hang out at home, maybe get cozy with pajamas and games, get some sparkling cider, watch a movie. Order some Graeter’s delivered and have an ice cream sundae party at home for New Year’s Eve! 

There are things to do with for New Year’s Eve with kids or if you need childcare for the kids. But, it is not the most popular family fun day with tons of things planned around town.


Overnight for kids:

If you want to go out on the town and need a place for the kids, there are places around town that offer a great service.

All About Kids offers a slumber party on the 31st from 7:00pm to 8:00am the next morning.

Hwang’s Martial Arts also hosts an overnight sleepover party. Your child does not have to be a student to attend their NYE party. It included an evening snack and breakfast. $60. Click here for information.


 

Family Fun together:

Louisville Parks & Recreation – Each of the community centers are having a New Year’s Eve celebration for children and families. The events are all either in the morning/afternoon on December 31st or December 30th! Find the community center near you on the list below, and come out to ring in a great year ahead!

Dave & Busters is offering an exciting and FUN way for you & your family to ring in the New Year! We will offer loads of excitement with our New Year’s Eve package which combines all the Food & FUN that guests have grown to love at Dave & Buster’s. Designed for families, this event will run from 5:00pm – 8:00pm.  

Winter Woods Spectacular at Iroquois Park runs through January 1. Walk through the lights and grab some hot chocolate on the way home. 

 

Full Throttle Adrenaline Park is open on New Year’s Eve from 11am-6pm for some kart racing or axe throwing family fun!

Fern Valley Strike and Spare has public bowling from 6pm-8pm (Family Fun) or 9pm to 1am (Main Event) on New Year’s Eve.

Ken Bowl and Dixie Bowl will have a New Year’s Eve Party this year. The Family Party is from 5-8pm and The Late Night Party is from 9pm-1am. Reserve your lane now.

The Kentucky Science Center: Ring in 2023 at the stroke of noon at their annual Noon Years celebration. It’s the perfect New Year party for families who can’t stay up until midnight. Enjoy fun activity stations throughout the building and join in a countdown to welcome the Noon Year. Included FREE with your general admission to Kentucky Science Center. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the New Year (without having to keep the kids awake until midnight).

Going ice skating together is a fun activity for New Year’s eve with kids. Click here for locations.

Paristown has their outdoor ice skating rink open from 12:00pm-11:00pm on New Year’s Eve.

Or, go roller skating at Champs Rollerdome which will be open from 7:00pm to 12:00am on New Year’s Eve.

Lights Under Louisville is open on New Year’s Eve from 9:30am-10:00pm.

Malibu Jack’s will be open until Midnight on New Year’s Eve!
