Our Louisville Summer Camp Fair is February 18th from 1-4pm at All About Kids, Crestwood. Admission is free. Come learn about camp options and maybe you’ll win an awesome prize. Play games for free, and freebies gifts for all the kids too!

One of the best free events in February, Every Sunday is FREE at the Speed Art Museum for Owsley Sunday! The free Sunday admission is named in honor of the late Owsley Brown II.

Join KMAC every Friday from 10:30-11:15 AM for movement, music, and artmaking. This event is free and open to the public and led by KMAC’s amazing Education team.

Louisville Nature Center (in summer!)

Visit the Louisville Nature Center. A truly unique community resource, the Louisville Nature Center offers wonderful opportunities for nature study and recreation–right in the heart of the city! The Louisville Nature Center provides nature education and encourages stewardship in an urban forest. Admission is free. (no dogs or bikes)


– The Black Superhero Showcase is baaa-aack on February 3rd at 2pm! And this year it has been moved to the Shawnee Library! In honor of African-American History Month, the Louisville Free Public Library will spotlight graphic novels, and artwork, and play games featuring some of media’s most popular and not-as well known black superheroes. Come dressed as your favorite superhero! For ages 5+

– Join the Louisville Free Public Library for one of their in-person events. Here’s a link to their events list. 

– Families are invited to join Louisville Orchestra ensembles for a fun, interactive storytelling through music performance at Once Upon an Orchestra! Participants of all ages will enjoy a program that weaves together storytelling adventures with creative music making. LO education staff will even help you make your own instruments from recycled materials:

– Join The Parklands Rangers and The Louisville Astronomical Society for a star-gazing party! On February 16, LAS will be setting up their high-end telescopes for public viewing outside the PNC Achievement Center in Beckley Creek Park. Enjoy the park after dark by stopping by anytime between 6pm and 10pm to star-gaze through high-powered telescopes and learn about the night sky from the rangers and experts in the field of astronomy.

Annual Backyard Bird Count – Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve – February 17, 10:00am-Noon. 

– Carmichael’s Kids is so excited to partner with the Louisville Free Public Library in presenting John Patrick Green, New York Times bestselling author of the InvestiGators series! Join them on Wednesday, February 21, at 6:30pm at LFPL’s Main Branch (601 York St) in celebration of Green’s *new* book, Agents of S.U.I.T: From Badger to Worse. The event is free, but registration is requested.
