Every Wednesday: 

Blackacre Conservancy hosts “Story Time with Miss Prim” at 10am. Join Miss Prim donned in her 19th century school dress, for story time at Blackacre. Bring a blanket and spread out under the shade of the tree by the horse pasture. Story time followed by music, dancing, and bubbles! Ideal for toddlers to age six.

Every Saturday:
Farm Animal Feeding at Blackacre Conservancy at 9:30am.

On Sundays:

Cherokee Triangle Summer Concert Series at Willow Park 7 – 9 pm.

Various Dates in July:
Shakespeare in the Park at Central Park. Most shows are at 8pm.

Independence Day Events around Louisville 



July 5

Join the Louisville Orchestra for a FREE Independence Day weekend community concert under the baton of Music Director Teddy Abrams. Play America returns to America Place at River Ridge in southern Indiana sponsored by Jasteka Cultural Center. In addition to a concert featuring diverse and dynamic music, starting at 6pm enjoy the family field featuring food trucks, bouncy castles, and free fun activities that all can enjoy!

Kid’s Day at the Market – East End Farmers Market, 13060 Factory Ln, 10am-2pm.


July 11

Enjoy some summer treats, play yard games, and talk about the Louisville Tree Plan with TreesLouisville at Wyandotte Park. 5-7pm


July 12 & 26

FridayFest – Highview Park, 6:00-10:00pm 


July 13

South Points Buy Local Fair – Find diversity and adventure in South Louisville with neighborhood independent businesses. Free parking and free admission. Join them for music, kid’s area, food and local libations, as well as the heart of the Fair: shopping from local businesses! 12-4pm


July 17

Art in the Park – Celebrate National Park and Recreation Month with them at Art in the Park! They will be set up under the pavilion before Kentucky Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet on July 17. They will have crafts and games for kids (and kids at heart) from 6 until the show starts.


July 20

Western Library’s Block Party is back! It’s a 80s Throwback theme this year, so break out your jellies and bucket hats – they’re bringing the rubix cubes! 10am


July 23

Enjoy some summer treats, play yard games, and meet members of the Parks Alliance of Louisville at Sheppard Park. 5-7pm


July 31

Waterfront Wednesday – Big Four Lawn at Waterfront Park, located next to the Big Four Pedestrian Bridge. Music starts at 6pm, lawn opens at 5pm.
