Toyland Christmas Display

This information about Toyland is not from this year and some of the Toyland experience may have changed. We still think they the best Christmas lights in Louisville. According to their website, they are still up and running seven nights a Toyland Christmas Louisville week!********

(Estimated) Dates: November 23rd – December 25th

They have not updated their website for 2024 but we have seen from posts online that the lights are ON for 2024 at Toyland.

Here is info about the Toyland Christmas lights display. We took the Gene Snyder to the Smyrna exit, continued to Outer Loop where we made a left. Then, we made a right on Shepherdsville and a left on Mile of Sunshine and came upon the house of lights on the left.
We pulled into the little circle that the house is on and parked. Some people just drive by but even in the cold. It was better to get out and walk around to see everything. The lights are set to music and video. In the middle of the yard, there is a huge wreath with a screen in the middle. On this screen, Santa conducts the music and there are other videos played. There is a video to tell you about the charity for which Toyland Christmas is collecting money, The Home of the Innocents.  In the past, they also have a main event with Papa Johns pizza and hot chocolate that is their huge fundraising night.

The front and side of the house is all decorated with lights and blow up characters.  Also, they have a small cabin-like building in the driveway that is made to be Santa’s workshop. We peaked in the window to see the fireplace going, tree lit, toys moving and even a train zipping around the top of the room. My son loved the train and the man, who must live there, let my son into Santa’s toyshop. He sat in Santa’s special chair and Toyland Christmas Louisville checked the place out; he thought he was quite important! Around the side of the house, you will see Mrs. Claus in one window and a digital/tv Santa is in the other window. He even gives out a nice HO! HO! HO to everyone, walks around and fiddles with his candle. It’s fun!

There is a donation box and drop in some money to help their cause.

They have events every year.  Pictures with Santa, a special events weekend – such fun.

Incredible Christmas Lights in Jeffersontown!
Wow, this house in Jeffersontown can likely be seen from Mars! 8815 Brittany Dr. One of our writers stopped by and said the lights were really pretty. They got out of their car to get a good look at them and take it all in. There are a ton of lights.

They are collecting donations for charity and have a mailbox set up with a flier for information. We will add more details about this soon. At the time of her visit, there were people gathered around so she aired on the side of caution and didn’t get the flier. Totally agree!

Louisville’s Aurora Light Show

1542 Lincoln Hill Way – see this video for a sample of what they have going on at this house! And, they keep adding songs so each time you go, it’s likely to be different.

Other homes we have heard have fantastic lights

In Southern Indiana, check out 1715 Whittier Drive in Clarksville. The lights sing and dance to the songs. There are currently 11 songs. Tune your radio to 95.3 FM to hear the music. Thursday-Sunday. Thursday 5-9pm, Friday/Saturday 5-10pm, Sunday 5-10:30pm. Christmas week they will run the lights 5-10:30pm all week.

While over in Southern Indiana, be sure to go to New Albany to see the minion house. It has over 70 minions and lots of lights. It’s at 2032 Indiana Ave, New Albany, IN

Check out 13128 Willow Forest Drive – another good one we heard about on Facebook.

Also, the Windemere Subdivision in Hikes Point (Off Lowe Road) – many houses to see like the one below. Turn on Ashfield Lane to see many many homes with fantastic decorations.

Dennis Drive in Shepherdsville has one house that goes all out!

(No longer lit as of 2024) There’s a stretch of Zoneton Road (3600-4200 blocks of Zoneton Road) in Zoneton that’s looks awesome to visit. Maybe you can visit this before or after you check out Dennis Drive listed above!

There’s a house at the corner of Hayfield Way and US42 in Prospect that’s lights up big time for Christmas. You can get out and walk around the display in their yard!

There is a house on Clay Street in Louisville that puts on a show set to music. From them: “Please enter Clay Street coming south from Oak Street, and park on the opposite side of the street for best viewing. Please do not stop in the middle of the street to watch the show, as it holds up the flow of traffic. There are small speakers set out for walk-ups that are normally shut off around 8PM, so please arrive before then. Please keep your car speakers at a reasonable volume so as not to disturb the neighborhood.”

Larkmoor House

A reader submitted they have an animated light display set to music that is broadcast over an FM station that is a little secret that many don’t know about….until now. It is located at 1716 Larkmoor Ln, Louisville, KY 40218
