Family Fun at the Kentucky Science Center: Who Forted?

DCPD

This playful exhibit invites visitors of all ages to channel their inner architect and engineer as they design, build, and fortify their dream forts.

Looking for an engaging family activity that combines creativity, learning, and fun? The Kentucky Science Center’s “Who Forted?” exhibit offers just that—a hands-on building experience where visitors of all ages can design, construct, and test their own forts and play in a construction zone, complete with hard hats and safety vests.

The Who Forted: A Building Experience exhibit encourages families to experiment with physics and engineering concepts, such as balance, stability, and weight distribution, all in a fun, pressure-free environment. As the kids construct their masterpieces, you’ll also be reminded of the simple joys of fort-building from childhood—no blueprint required!

Why You Should Go:

  • Creative Play: Fuel your kids’ imaginations and explore your own!
  • Family Bonding: Collaborate as a team to tackle design challenges and celebrate your success.
  • STEM Learning: Introduce STEM concepts in an approachable, hands-on way that makes learning fun.
  • Memorable Fun: Who doesn’t love the chance to build the fort of their dreams?

Hours were spent playing on the construction site, building our own home, and working with other kids to make imagination come to life. Plan for your kids to not want to leave and be tired once done. We bounced around to all the activities and still didn’t get enough.

You will find this play area on the third floor of the Science Center. Plan your visit to Who Forted? and rediscover the joy of building, exploring, and playing together as a family!

This is a 10 out of 10 for us and we will be back. Kids of all ages really will enjoy all there is to do with the exhibit and we encourage you to check it out.
