Things to do this weekend December 21,22,23

Family Adventure Day
Grandmother Power at Ali Center

PhotobucketI thought I would highlight some great places to see lights so you can grab some hot chocolate to go and zoom around the Louisville area seeing the sites!

First, there are some awesome attractions. There’s the Louisville Mega Cavern- Lights Under Louisville , which just got recognized nationally as an awesome place to see lights by USA Today.  Don’t forget to grab a coupon.  Or, you could head downtown and see the lights along 4th street and the enormous tree by 4th Street Live.  Also, there’s the BEST display at the Toyland Christmas house and they raise money for Home of the Innocents. I tell everyone about this house and they always report back about how much fun it was and a hit with the kids.    Also, people have reported on our Facebook page that there’s a few houses near the Toyland house that you can go see on the same trip.  It’s 3704 Arcadia Court, Louisville, KY 40299.

If you are looking for some more options, there are nice light displays at parks like Brown Park in St. Matthews and Veteran’s Park in Jeffersontown. And, dancing lights and music in Downtown LaGrange right in the Main St. square. Readers also gave some more feedback on our Facebook page too:

One said: There’s Griswold house on Iola between Lexington Rd and Frankfort Ave that’s fabulous!!
Multiple readers mentioned Charlestown, IN and the wonderful lights they have in the town square and they also offer carriage rides Thursday-Sunday.

If you are looking for an activity this weekend, I recommend some fun skating at the Jeffersonville Ice Rink which is outdoors and real ice.  Fridays are teen nights with a DJ playing, Saturday at 11am they will have a FREE Nurcracker on Ice show and Sunday starting at 1pm, you can skate with Santa.  Coupon HERE.

Another fun option that’s happening Friday and Saturday is a special show called Christmas in Candyland. It’s at the Clifton Center and it’s a musical put on by kids!  Tickets are $12 at the door and there are performances Friday and Saturday at 2pm and 7:30 both days.

Have a fabuLOUs weekend (I will be wrapping! And note, that’s with a W, you do not want me rapping….although I do know every word to every Salt-n-Pepa song from the 80s/90s….test me….I digress…)
