Weekend family fun events

Looks like we might have a little bit of everything this weekend in terms of the weather. I’ll make my picks accordingly!
Start your weekend off by doing good! Join our Facebook Group that’s all about giving back to our local teachers.
Turner’s Circus has a show on Friday night starting at 7pm. Tickets start at $7.50. It’s a Cajun country adventure with fascinating acrobatics, dance, gymnastics and celebration of circus arts!

Louisville Orchestra presents Peter and the Wolf at the Brown Theatre. The story will be brought to life with the help of Squallis Puppeteers. The show starts at 11am but pre-show fun begins at 10am in the lobby. Tickets are $15.

Rain or shine! Get outside to learn about salamanders at The Parklands through their Junior Explorer program. It’s free for members, just $5 for everyone else (parents and kids). Recommended for kids ages 5-12. Register here. It starts at 10am at the Ben Stout House at Turkey Run.

Take a hike! Explore the Beargrass Creek State Nature Preserve that’s tucked away near Joe Creason Park & the Louisville Zoo. It’s an urban green space that you’ll want to see. The trails are totally family-manageable with one being just 0.5 miles! Be sure to check out the rules before you go and print or save a map.

P.S. – Check out our events calendar for more ideas!
