Gaslight Festival 2020
The Gaslight Festival (booths and entertainment) and Parade have been cancelled for 2020.
The Gaslight Festival is a tradition in Jeffersontown. The pandemic has put a halt to some of the time-honored tradition.
The City of Jeffersontown made a difficult decision regarding Gaslight Festival 2020. The City of Jeffersontown is cancelling the Gaslight parade for 2020. They are also cancelling the booth and entertainment portion of the festival. The Gaslight Festival is (was) scheduled to take place September 18-20. I use the is/was because not all of it cancelled just yet.
Gaslight Festival 2020 will be the 51st year of the festival. Thought it is disappointing to see portions of the event cancelled, hopefully they can keep some of the tradition alive. We know families have such fond memories of attending events like these every year and encourage everyone to make sure you stay positive and find ways to make new memories in 2020!
One of the favorites of the Gaslight Festival is the Balloon Glow. The City Council did not cancel this event yet but also, it is not guaranteed to happen. If it does happen, it will likely be at a location at which people can drive by to see the balloons.
There are other portions of the festival that will continue:
5K Run/Walk (online, no set run that will close roads)
Keep tabs on the social media pages for The Chamber Jeffersontown for updates on these portions of the events. You know things change on a daily basis in 2020!
Though much of Gaslight Festival 2020 will not take place, there’s still quite a bit that you can do safely. To keep tabs on events that are happening, please visit our calendar page. When we see events that are being held in a manner that is compliant with the state guidelines, we post it there! And, our summer fun page is FULL.
