We enjoy showing our Dads how much we love and appreciate them, and some businesses in our community have jumped in to help. But why?

You want to do something special for Father’s Day in Louisville. Father’s Day in the United States has an interesting history. Presidents Woodrow Wilson and Calvin Coolidge both tried to persuade Congress to make it a national holiday and were turned down. In 1966, President Lyndon B Johnson issued a presidential proclamation designating the third Sunday in June to honor fathers but nothing was made official until 1972 when then sitting President Richard Nixon signed Father’s Day as a permanent national holiday.

Spending the day at Huber’s Orchard & Winery: Pick fruit, head to the farm park, grab some ice cream and relax in the shade. Dad can even check out the winery and distillery and pick out his own gift! The farm park is open for the kids to run around and have fun.

Go on a hike and find a local Waterfall. Spend time with the family outside – the weather is going to be beautiful. Pack a picnic! Be sure to take your trash out with you, many of these wonderful waterfalls are becoming increasingly popular, keep them clean!
