Juneteenth Day Events in Louisville
Juneteenth is on June 19th every year. More and more events are popping up to celebrate this day in American history.
Over the last few years, an effort has been made to recognize and celebrate Juneteenth and what it means to in American history. We have compiled a list of events that are happening around the city. These events are family-friendly and family fun.
A little bit of history
Sixth Annual Juneteenth Celebration: June 6th, 11am-2pm, Food, Fun, Music, Games & Giveaways! Sensory Sensitive Time from 11-11:30am.
6th Annual Juneteenth Solidarity Ride: June 13th, This FREE bike ride commemorates Juneteenth. This is an inclusive, family friendly, casual, no-drop ride. There are three route options. Choose 13, 24 or 50. All routes begin and end in Shawnee Park. Helmets required. Traffic laws will be followed, snacks and water provided. On-site registration at 7:30am. On-line registration closes on Friday at 5pm EST. Wheels down at 9am, 50 miler leaves at 8am sharp.
Before Freedom Rang: A Juneteenth Story of Kentucky’s Emancipation – June 19th, 7-8pm, free, Kentucky Center, Bomhard Theater. Experience the powerful story behind Juneteenth and Kentucky’s August 8 Emancipation tradition.
6th Annual Juneteenth “Ancestors Dream” Block Party: June 19th, 1-7pm, MELANnaire Marketplace is bringing the culture, community, and commerce together once again. Join them in Downtown Louisville as they celebrate freedom, legacy, and Black entrepreneurship in a powerful way.
Jammin’ in Jeff Juneteenth Celebration: June 19th, 4:00-11:00pm, This evening is all about honoring freedom, culture, and community — with live music, interactive activities, and opportunities to support local Black-owned businesses and creators.
Oldham County History Center Juneteenth Banquet: June 20th, The Oldham County History Center’s 2026 Junteenth celebration will feature a banquet honoring local historic churches, 6pm.
Freedom Day Festival: June 20th, The festival features live music, food, arts and crafts, children’s activities, guided talks and walks, and a keynote presentation. Public shuttle from Louisville will be available. 10am-4pm
