FREE School Supplies
It’s back to school time and that means kids need school supplies. Several places and organizations are offering free back-to-school supplies around Louisville.
School supplies are essential to a successful start to school but they are also an added expense. We are here to help you with that expense by providing a list of places you and your child can get back-to-school supplies for free in the Louisville area.
Be sure to click on the links and read the requirements so places may have to get the supplies. Many times, they ask that the student be present to receive the free school supplies.

2024 Back to School Bash Presented by Duke Energy! – Clark County Family YMCA, 4 pm- 7pm. Come by the Clark County YMCA to celebrate the start of school with free backpacks, school supplies, haircuts/barber cuts, vaccines, food, and Kona Ice while supplies last! Other community vendors will be in attendance to do car seat checks, talk about community programming, and pass out other freebies! Bounce houses, games, and more will be available too!
July 31
Back to School Bash – 7pm, Calvary Christian Center, 10710 Taylorsville Rd, Louisville, KY. Celebrate going back to school with fun inflatables, food, and school supply giveaways!
August 3
Backpack and School Supply Giveaway – WLOU 104.7 Jamz and Kentucky Science Center have teamed up for the ultimate back-to-school event! Science, Fun, Music, Backpacks and more! Registration is required for this event and tickets are limited so get yours today!
WLOU is excited to host their Back to School Block Party and Backpack Giveaway hosted by DJ Z-Nyce and Robin G on August 3rd at 1pm-4pm.
Hammer’s Great Backpack Giveaway! – Mcferran Preparatory Academy, 10 am – 12 pm. Isaacs and Isaacs Personal Injury Lawyers are partnering with Stock Yards Bank for the second annual “Hammer’s Great Backpack Giveaway!” event. 3,000 backpacks filled with school supplies will be given to children and families in need of them.
