13 Southern Indiana Fun Fall Events

Fall is a great time to explore Southern Indiana. There are many fun events from festivals to fossils.

 

 

Here are 13+ that stand out to us in Southern Indiana for fall family fun.

Harvest Homecoming – New Albany, October 5-13
This festival is a staple of autumn coming in Southern Indiana. Booth days are October 10-13.

Open October 4 & 5, 11 & 12, and 17 & 18. Doors open at 7pm. Tickets are $18.- Literally, A Haunted House at Culbertson Mansion in New Albany. 

Steamboat Nights – Big Four Station Park, October 4 & 5, Family Fun Zone, rides, balloon glimmer, and more.

National Fossil Day – Clarksville, October 12, 10am – 4pm. Celebrate National Fossil Day at the Falls of the Ohio State Park with a series of special fossil bed hikes, reduced admission for the Interpretive Center, guides on the collecting piles and more.

Turtle Talk – Charlestown State Park, October 5th & 12th, 2-3pm. Stop by the Nature Nook and meet the resident Turtles!

A Haunting Good Time – Charlestown. October 18th- 20th, 10:00am. Tours, crafts, scavenger hunts, and more!

October Full Moon Hike – Charlestown, October 19th, 8 p.m. It’s all about hiking under the full moon! Go experience a hike like no other.

Lark Ranch in Lanesville

The Ultimate Fall Experience at Lark Ranch runs Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in Lanesville. Train rides, pumpkin picking, carnival rides, corn pit, play village, and more!

So. Indiana Fall Craft Show – Sellersburg. October 26th, 9:00am – 2:00pm. Enjoy shopping from local crafters, makers and vendors 

Big Four Boo Fest – October 28th, 5:30-8:00pm. Get ready for an exciting night of fun and frights at Big Four Station Park! Join us for a Spooktacular Night of Trick or Treating where ghouls and goblins of all ages can enjoy a hauntingly good time.

Fall Harvest Hayride – Clarksville, November 1, 6 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Nothing says fall like an old fashioned hayride through Lapping Park as the leaves on the trees show off their beautiful colors.

Dia de los Muertos: Day of the Dead – November 2nd, Silver Street Park in New Albany, 11:00am-2:00pm

Fall into Autumn at French Lick Resort – French Lick
September-October, There are several special events for the entire family going on at the beautiful fall foliage covered grounds of French Lick Resort. Check the website for details.

Pumpkin Picking Time at Joe Huber’s Family Farm and Restaurant – Starlight, Now through October 31st,
Spend a day pumpkin picking at Huber’s, it’s a Kentuckiana family tradition.
