Are you ready for free events  in March? We are! March brings cold rainy days, beautiful spring-like days and everything in between.

Make the most of this season-shifting month with some FREE family fun!

Are you looking forward to spring and lots of outdoor adventures with your kids? We give you FREE EVENTS in MARCH! This time of year always moves fast when the area is focused on getting to Spring Break, Easter, and Derby time and the end of the school year. Stick with us and we will make sure you don’t miss a thing this spring!

If you want some spring break ideas, we have many on our post about spring break close to Louisville – if you are up for something but don’t want to go too far. 


 

Free admission all month at Yew Dell Botanical Gardens in Crestwood though March 3rd.  Explore the grounds, take a hike, relax with a good book or picnic lunch! Only open Tuesday – Friday 10am-4pm. 

Flea Off Market Spring Kick Off is March 1st and 2nd. They will have food trucks, great vendors, live music and so much more.  

StageOne Family Theatre presents a performance of The History of Now by Keith McGill on March 1st at the South Central Regional Library starting at 2:00pm.

Farmer’s Markets are starting back up as we get ready for spring. This is definitely one of the best free events in March. Saturdays in March visit Beulah Presbyterian Church from 10am-1pm, check it out 

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be held on March 8th. Streets close down and Parade begins at 3:00pm at the corner of Broadway & Baxter. Floats/Units continue down Baxter to Bardstown Road. The Parade ends at Windsor Place. 

The gates to the North Overlook via Uppill Road in Iroquois Park will be opened on the 2nd Saturday and Sunday of the month from 10am-4pm during March-November. Each date is weather dependent. March 8th & 9th from 10am-4pm.

Join the Louisville Astronomical Society and The Parklands at the PNC Achievement Center in Beckley Creek Park for star viewing on March 21st! Telescopes and the new digital telescopes will be set up for public use. They will be looking at Jupiter and Mars along with the Orion nebula from 7pm-9pm.

Music Without Borders is the Louisville Orchestra’s free concert series, bringing live music directly to neighborhoods across our community. Designed to connect, inspire, and uplift, these concerts create an opportunity for everyone to experience the transformative power of music, right where they live. This month will be at The Jeffersonian on March 27th starting at 7:30pm.
