Zanzabar Arcade at Logan Street Market
A retro arcade in Louisville – new space for indoor fun will take you back in time for affordable family fun
Zanzabar Arcade at Logan Street Market is a new, large venue full of retro (and a few current) arcade games.
This large arcade in Louisville provides a new option for indoor family fun. Sometimes it’s more difficult to find things to do with teenagers. My daughter and I will go thrifting, grab coffee or dinner out, and go to the movies. When I saw that this new arcade was opening at Logan Street Market, I immediately knew I had to go and she is already saying she wants to go back with her friends.
Logan Street Market is located in the Germantown/Shelby Park area (click for map). You can park (free) on the streets all around. I have generally never had issues finding parking there. They are open Tuesday – Sunday 10am to 6pm. While you are there, you can get food, coffee, treats and there’s a bar. They have other shops you can browse as well.
In the back, Zanzabar has added an arcade. It is totally retro in an awesome way. I was giggly over having to break out cash and put it into the change machine for quarters – like I was 8 years old at the bowling alley in the 1980s. Be sure to bring your own quarters or bring 1s, 5s, or 10s. The machine will only change those denominations. I am so glad to have this arcade in Louisville that isn’t overly commercial and super expensive!
There is a large seating area in the middle. You can purchase some snacks or a meal and hang out in there to eat and play games. They have dozens of games. The majority of the games were pinball style games but they had many video games that were single or two player games.
Most of the games at this arcade in Louisville were one or two quarters to play. Some of the pinball machines required more quarters to play but I really didn’t see any over a dollar. We played a totally random video game over and over as two players that was just a quarter for each of us. We laughed and had so much fun. We were there for two hours and I spent $15.
I highly recommend this Zanzabar arcade in Louisville at Logan Street Market, specifically for teens. They did have little stools for younger kids to be able to stand higher and play games. I also think it could be fun for a group of adult friends or as a date night. Dinner, drinks, and the arcade…..sounds fun!
