Juneteenth Day Events in Louisville
Juneteenth is on June 19th every year. More and more events are popping up to celebrate this day in American history.
Over the last few years, an effort has been made to recognize and celebrate Juneteenth and what it means to in American history. We have compiled a list of events that are happening around the city. These events are family-friendly and family fun.
A little bit of history
Fourth Annual Juneteenth Celebration: June 7, 11am-2pm, Food, Fun, Music, Games & Giveaways! Sensory Sensitive Time from 11-11:30am.
Louisville Juneteenth Festival – June 21st, 3pm-9pm. Check their website for all the details!
Oldham County History Center Juneteenth Banquet: June 21st, The Oldham County History Center’s 2025 Junteenth celebration will feature a banquet honoring retired Major General Craig Timberlake, 6pm.
1st Annual Freedom Day Festival: The festival features live music featuring The Marshall Law Band, food, arts and crafts, children’s activities, guided talks and walks, and a keynote presentation. Public shuttle from Louisville will be available.
6th Annual Juneteenth Solidarity Ride: This FREE bike ride commemorates Juneteenth. This is an inclusive, family friendly, casual, no-drop ride. There are three route options. Choose 13, 24 or 50. All routes begin and end in Shawnee Park. Helmets required. Traffic laws will be followed, snacks and water provided. June 14th starting at 8am.
Ancestor’s Dream-Juneteenth Celebration: June 19th, 4th Street Live, 3-10pm. Live music, delicious food, entertainment, and more.
Jammin’ in Jeff Night Market- Juneteenth: June 20th, 5:00-7:00pm, This evening is all about honoring freedom, culture, and community — with live music, interactive activities, and opportunities to support local Black-owned businesses and creators.
Juneteenth Celebration 2025 – June 19th, 8:30-10:00am. Join the Muhammad Ali Center, The Association for Teaching Black History in Kentucky, and the Filson Historical Society for a powerful Juneteenth celebration honoring freedom, reflection, and collective healing. Tickets are free, but registration is required.
