Review of Open Play Soccer at 4 Kicks for Kidz By: Stephanie
If you are looking for a fun activity for your kids to do during the week, open play soccer at 4 Kicks for Kidz
is wonderful for toddlers and pre-schoolers. I took my 2-year-old daughter this morning and she and many other pre-school children had a really great time with Coach Rob. What a fantastic, inexpensive and flexible option for Louisville parents and kids!
The open play starts at 9:30am and costs $5. For about the first 20 minutes, the parents and children can play on their own with the soccer balls, cones, nets and such. There is also a little area of wooden play toys and coloring books. My daughter is a young artist so she had to get her coloring fix before any soccer could be played!
Close to 10am, Coach Rob gathered all of the children to welcome them and do a warm-up. He played a fun interactive song and everyone enjoyed the “freeze game.” Then, everyone came back to the circle to do some stretches and be silly! After that, Coach Rob ran some games and activities to get the kids moving in a more organized manner than just open play. They did a dribbling game, an obstacle course and a silly game that got my daughter laughing hysterically that the coach called “The Ouch Game.” No, the kids didn’t get hurt!! They chased the coach and kicked the soccer balls to hit his feet and he yelled ouch. My daughter found it VERY amusing. The mini-class lasted around 40 minutes.
At the end of the little class portion, Coach Rob gives each child a soccer stamp on their hand and a sucker. Then, families are free to play some more until 11am.
This program is available Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 9:30am-11am and costs just $5! We have it posted on our site calendar.
4 Kicks for Kidz also offers birthday parties, classes and summer camps!
