Metro Parks Offering Free Swim Lessons

Metro Parks will be opening three of it’s outdoor pool on Saturday, May 29 and offering something new this year, free swim lessons.

Swim Club is an 8 week program the will be offered by Louisville Metro Parks at 3 of their outdoor pools for summer 2021 to help kids learn to swim and be comfortable in the water.

Information from previous years:

Kids ages 7-12 can register the week of June 7 by calling Metro Parks, 502-897-9949. Swim lessons are being offered for free but kids must be registered. There is a maximum of 8 kids per age level class. Age levels are 7 & 8, 9 & 10, 11 & 12. Three Metro Park pools will be hosting the classes on different days of the week. 

 

Algonquin Pool: Monday 10:30 a.m.

Fairdale Pool: Tuesday 10:30 a.m

Sun Valley Pool: Thursday 10:30 am.

Kids will learn basic swimming skills like front crawl, backstroke, and breaststroke during their free swim lesson time. They will also learn some basic rescue skills and have fun while learning. 

 

This program runs from June 14 through August 2 of 2021. 

Louisville Metro Park pools will be open to the public starting Saturday, May 29. Each location will have different hours of operation, so be sure to check with each before heading out. Admission is $2 per person and children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by someone 12 or older.
