Free events in January! The holidays may be over, but the family fun continues. January boasts some fun opportunities and the best news is these events are all FREE!

Free fun in January

As always, our calendar is ready for you at any time when you are looking for things to do with your family. There are many more free events in January listed on our calendar. 

 

Here are some events for you and your family!

Every Sunday – Speed Museum admission is Free from 12pm-5pm. 

Second & Fourth Friday of the month – Tiny Art Tales at KMAC from 10:30-11:15am.

Arts in Play Family Playgroup – Virtual Playgroups Return January 6

Blackacre Conservancy – Open Sunrise to Sunset for hiking, exploring, feeding animals, and more

Louisville Nature Center – Gardens and trails are open daily from dawn until dusk.

Yew Dell Botanical Gardens – Tuesday – Friday, 10:00am-4:00pm


January 8

T-Rex Tea Party – Main Library, 11:30am-12:30pm. T-Rex Tea Party is an opportunity for families to bond over shared stories, songs, as well as engaging in creative activities that reinforce a lifelong love of learning. 


January 13

Once Upon an Orchestra – Shively Library – 10:15am, Musical Friends from Around the World


January 18 & 19

Children’s Spa Day Take & Make – 4:00-5:00pm, Southwest Library. Treat yourself this New Year with a children’s take-and-make kit featuring a lip scrub, a DIY face mask, and a sleep mask you decorate! Available while supplies last.


January 29

Discovery Days: Make Your Own Magnet– Carnegie Center – 10:00-11:00am and 11:00am-12:00pm. Free, but registration is required.
