There are some slight frights for the younger kids but mostly these are haunted attractions geared toward those who get a thrill out of scares! Haunted Hotel

The Haunted Hotel boasts it is Louisville’s longest standing and scariest Halloween attraction. It gets great reviews for scare factor. It is considered an “extreme” show, which means the actors can touch you you may hear some choice language. The scares continue both inside and outside the hotel.

Baxter Avenue Morgue

The Morgue is a walking tour through the basement of a 100 year old morgue made up of low ceilings, tight corridors, long hallways, and actors that will jump out at you for a frightful scare. The biggest piece of advice by reviewers is don’t walk through too fast and enjoy the unique scares.

The Devil’s Attic

The Devil’s Attic is a collection of classic horror films, childhood demons, and classic monsters to frighten even the bravest of souls. The reviews for Devil’ Attic are excellent, stating the actors, costumes, makeup, and environment make it a must see.

American Horrorplex

Screams fill the air as you wait your turn to explore the haunted halls, wander through a maze of maniacs, and try to escape with your mind and soul intact. Terror waits around every corner at The American Horrorplex where the cure is the disease.
The American Horrorplex will be open every Friday and Saturday night, from 8pm until 2am. Sep 17, 2021 – Oct 30th, 2021.

Legend at Pope Lick

Legend at Pope Lick Haunted Woods is Louisville’s award-winning haunted trail, rated one of the best haunted forests in the country. Walking through the woods in the dark at night is scary enough, but thinking about the fact that this attraction is based on the actual legend of the Pope Lick Monster increases the scare factor. 

Danger Run

Danger Run® is a game played in the car where you will be solving clues to find REAL haunted places around town. You will uncover some of spookiest places that you never knew existed! At those locations you will uncover a decades old unsolved mystery of a series of disappearances. Using our App, you will communicate with the ghosts of those that disappeared to solve the mystery.

Join a guide for this nightly tour that introduces you to the ghostly past and paranormal hotspots in America’s Most Haunted Neighborhood. This tour is run by a very knowledgeable tour guides who tell you the true history of the area, the architecture, and the true, creepy stories of the area.

Trail of Lost Souls in Hardin County. PG-13 Haunted Attraction that’s open every Friday and Saturday from mid-September through October. 8pm – 12am. $20 

Malice Manor
640 Providence Way, Clarksville, IN 47129
Malice Manor Haunted Attraction, located in Clarksville Indiana, boasts over 10,000 square feet of indoor horror, where weather is never a problem. Malice Manor is depicted as a dreamland of thrills and spine tingling screams around every corner with the creatures that have escaped the mind of the Manor’s owner lurking the halls. Malice Manor has gotten a lot of excellent reviews on the scare factor, with only the time waiting on line as the drawback.

New Albany Wicked Walk – Walking tours of downtown New Albany with all of the strange and wicked history and happenings. Private tours available as well. No jump scares. Tours are about 2.5 hrs long. They do not recommend this for children. 

Field of Screams
248 Darnall Ave, Brandenburg, KY 40108
Field of Screams has a two story Haunted Barn, Forbidden Forest, Hayride to Hell, and 6 Acre Corn Maze that Field of Screams. This classic Halloween location is still viewed as a good tradition to take the family to visit, but not as scary as other Halloween attractions.

Black Orchard Haunted House
704 Kentucky St, Shelbyville, KY 40065
This indoor and outdoor haunted house experience in Shelby County is getting high praise for a scary and creepy experience.


The Spirits of LaGrange Ghost Tour
208 East Main Street LaGrange, KY 40031
The La Grange Ghost Tour is a two hour outdoor walking tour with 100% authentic experiences and history. Go for a walk back in time and discover why La Grange is such a haunted little town! Bring a flashlight. Due to the potential spirit activity, all 100% genuine, the tour is for ages 13+. The walking tours are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings in October. 

Black Orchard Haunted House – Shelbyville. Do you know the legend of Black Orchard? You will learning all about it on this haunt, maybe more than you want to know. Tickets start at $10. Every Friday and Saturday mid-September until the end of October. 

Haunted Mine Boat Tour at The Gorge Underground – now a self guided spooky Kayak excursion instead of haunted boat tour

According to their website, your descent into the darkness of the Gorge Underground goes from cool to chilling. Your journey starts in a custom-built cave boat winding through the 100-year-old mine, but you and the other guests won’t be alone as zombie miners have overtaken the Gorge Underground. With frightening music, décor, and characters, this tour will have you at the edge of your seat. This Halloween attraction is getting top reviews by all who attend.

This Louisville institution is AMAZING for Halloween shopping!

Caufield’s Novelty
1006 W Main St, Louisville, KY 40202
This is much more than a novelty store. During Halloween season, it’s an experience. Aside from having almost any costume you could think of, they have an area in the back just made to make you scream and creep you out. This is a great litmus test on how much scare your kids can take.

Gallrein Farms has a Haunted House that’s ‘not so scary’ and part of their fall fun events and happening.

From fun to creepy, this is a great street to check out for little ones for just a tiny bit of creep factor.

Zombie Paintball at Thomas Dairy Farm and Market
4625 Leitchfield Rd, Cecilia, KY 42724
Guests each get 125 paintballs to help save Thomas Dairy Farm and Market from the Zombie Invasion! Suitable for all ages as long as they can maneuver the mounted paintball gun. There’s also the Haunted Woods for older kids – it’s going through the corn maze with flashlights and you never know what’s at any turn!
