Free events in January! The holidays may be over, but the family fun continues. January boasts some fun opportunities and the best news is these events are all FREE!

Free fun in January

As always, our calendar is ready for you at any time when you are looking for things to do with your family. There are many more free events in January listed on our calendar. 

 

Here are some events for you and your family!

Every Sunday – Speed Museum admission is Free from 12pm-5pm. 

Every Friday of the month – Tiny Art Tales at KMAC from 10:30-11:15am.

Blackacre Conservancy – Open Sunrise to Sunset for hiking, exploring, feeding animals, and more

Louisville Nature Center – Gardens and trails are open daily from dawn until dusk.

Yew Dell Botanical Gardens – Tuesday – Friday, 10:00am-4:00pm

January 1

First Year Hikes – Join them on New Year’s Day for a First Day Hike. On Jan. 1, 2023, Indiana state parks and state forests are hosting guided hikes, runs and one trail ride. Find one that is near you.

Car-Free Cherokee – From 8 AM to 4 PM, walkers, runners, and bikers can enjoy a serene experience in Cherokee Park without worrying about vehicle traffic.


January 7

Shakespeare in the Libraries: Twelfth Night – 2pm at Southwest Regional Library. The audience will be engaged with professional actors in a creative show that focuses on the importance of self-respect, self-esteem, healthy relationships, and conflict resolution. Ages 6+ 

Once Upon an Orchestra – Iroquois Library, 11am, The Very Hungry Catepillar 


January 14

Shakespeare in the Libraries: Twelfth Night – 2pm at Southwest Regional Library. The audience will be engaged with professional actors in a creative show that focuses on the importance of self-respect, self-esteem, healthy relationships, and conflict resolution. Ages 6+ 


January 15

Keepers of the Dream – Celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King’s vision at this free, two-hour event at Whitney Hall, The Kentucky Center. The show begins at 5:00pm.


January 18

Once Upon an Orchestra – Fairdale Library, 11:30am, Mina


January 21
