Blackberry picking near Louisville is available at Berry Bee Acres in Simpsonville at 6535 Shelbyville Rd. Take a ride just into Shelby County to find this small, specialty farm that will bring you summer sweetness!

We know how Louisville families love local farms. Some farms are bigger than others and it’s nice to find these smaller family farms to go to so it’s not an entire day excursion but just an hour or so. This farm is not far from the Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass so you could pop over there for shopping or a bite to eat too. 

One thing we definitely recommend is checking their latest updates on Facebook because blackberries are only ready to be picked when…..well, they are black! If they have a bunch of red berries that aren’t ready, you’ll want to know that before you head to their farm. 

Second, bring cash. They do not accept credit card payments so make sure you have cash. And, if it is raining or storming, they do not open. The prices are $8 to $25 depending on how many blackberries you pick. 

This blackberry picking near Louisville farm is open Monday-Saturday 9am-6pm as long as their are berries to pick, usually July – August. They supply you with what you need to pick so it is easy. You just need to wear some sunscreen and maybe some bug spray, bring some water and you are good to go. 

They also have local honey and blackberry jam for sale. My family just recently went blackberry picking in Michigan and it was a hit so we are excited to share this nearby u-pick option with Louisville area families.
